Blue Planet Kayak Tours

Both my wife and I like it. The length and difficulty level are well balanced.

I own a home on a lake, so I timed my kayak tour for when there would be a full moon. Moonlight on water is just awesome. Fortunately the weather cooperated, and our tour was not only informative, but beautiful. The tour guide was mindful of the different levels of experience of the kayakers, and promoted safety the whole time. I would recommend to anyone except the MOST experienced.

At first the guide was late (15-20 mins). There was a mix up between the office and him on the meeting location. But things happen and we didn't really make a big deal about it. In summary there is nothing glamorous about this trip but the guys were real nice and knowledgable about the area and marine life. We saw the sunset even though we were running behind which was nice, got up close with some birds and marine life. Really enjoyed it actually but not really a romantic trip.

us was late for the pick-up time, two children and parents. They were not really prepared, they had no sunblock, no hat for the fair redheaded son, and not much experience kayaking. It was very windy that day and the father and son were in a double kayak, and could not keep up, so finally they decided to just paddle near the dock. The mother and daughter did ok, but slowed everyone up. The guide was very patient with them.. and he was very interesting. The bathroom we had to use at the garage next door needed some help....

was a great kayak paddle, went through mangrove trails and guide would stop to point out the interesting plant & wildlife above and below the water. we saw alot of aquatic life that the guide would pick off the shallows and explaine the specie and what they do. my wife and i highly recommend this experience to all interested. My family truly enjoyed our time with our guide James- he explained in great detail the various ocean life we saw and made sure everyone was safe. Keeping two 17 year old girls engaged for over 2 hours is definitely a feat and our guide was up to the challenge. We talked about the kayak adventure the rest of the day - our only regret was that no one in the group had a camera. Thank you

Great guide,lots to see, great for all levels of ability

This was a wonderful trip! The guide was laid back and knowledgeable of the area. The mangroves are awesome!!

Even though it was windy and there was a lot of fish kill (from the cold weather), I really enjoyed the kyaking trip. The mangroves were beautiful, the guide was knowledgeable and very friendly and it was a great time. I can't wait to come back and do the sunset kyaking! The kyaks were also very comfortable and provided great back support (a problem I've had with other kyaks).

Great tour. Could use more time in the mangroves themselves versus the ocean but a worthwhile experience.

The tour was fun and informative. But definately not romantic. Be sure to have bug spray!!

The day was perfect, our guide Pat was superb! He went out of his way to find a few interesting fauna that otherwise I would not have been aware of, a sea hare, a cassiopeia jellyfish, starfish, a huge hermit crab, live conch, some interesting crabs that hang out in the mangrove, and beware of fire sponges. It was one of the best outings we have done while visiting our family in Key West. Highly recommend this to anyone.

Was a lot of fun, our guide was great, saw lots of interesting wildlife!

I saw the tour on one of the key west websites and it looked like a good time. I made reservations and they try to pick you up as conveniently as possible. However, when it came to dealing with the office, they were a little unorganized. They switched our day because not enough people were signed up--they want approximately 10. Once we actually got picked up and out to the key, however, it was beautiful. It was a wonderful time and our tour guide knew what he was doing and could answer questions. My advice is to take the guided tour--if you just rent the kayak, you'll see plenty of blue water, but you won't see nearly as much marine life or have such a great time.

We had great weather and our guide Pat was great. We had four kids with us (ages 11-15) and they enjoyed it. Our guide pointed out numerous sea creatures along the way and we even got to hold and or touch many of them. It was a little challenging maneuvering through some of the mangroves, but we all had fun. Even got to see a shark!
