Blue Planet Kayak Tours

Our Guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastice about the subject. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone.

That day is really windy, so makes me so hard to kayak. Make sure don't make appointment on a windy day especially if you are the rookie. The guide is good and nice, but you cannot expect them tell you every details about kayaking skill, and sometimes, if you didn't do really well, don't feel too frustrated. Just enjoy the ocean and sunshine, you are going to love kayaking and key west ocean!

This was a great experience and it was great trying to watch everyone learn to use the kayaks. Although there was a little trouble here and there trying to control the kayaks, we got through and it was great! So beautiful and tranquil. make sure you put sunscreen!

This tour does not contain many excitements such as water splash or life threatening events, but a lot of unexpected surprises how life live in the beautiful mangrove forest: sea snails, crabs, jelly fish, sea slugs, sea cucumber, starfish and many! Besides we could touch them and look at them at very close, we were also exposed to a rich knowledge of and nice friendly talks of our tour guide, Jack. We joined other tours such as snorkeling at coral reef, but this tour is the best and unforgettable. I would like to join the night tour, which contains more experience of life activities, next time!

It's been over a year since we did this, so, unfortunately, I don't remember our guide's name. He knew the critters in and around the water like the back of his hand. He was relaxed and easy-going, which we liked a lot. No hype, just a lot of good information as we explored. One of the highlights was him catching a small yellow ray with his hands and letting us feel it. Great way to spend and evening. Bring bug dope if it's mosquito season, though. Seriously.

The kayak tour was great! Lots of great destinations and the tour guide was very educational. We got some great pictures and will def. go again on our next vacation!

This was our first time on a kayak and I was amazed at how much I enjoyed it. Our time in Key West with Blue Planet was a highlight in our vacation. Thank you very much for a memorable trip.

We were more than amazed at the experience. Our paddle was leisurely as we crossed the channel and as the sun made it way across the horizon to set, and then the pace and excitement picked up as we navigated our way through a Mangrove Forest. The evening kayak expedition was a lot of fun. The guide, Chad, was very knowledgeable about ecology of the mangrove islands and tidal flats, and the scenery was beautiful. The pace of the kayaking was well done, also; neither my husband nor I had trouble keeping with the group for the 2 1/2 hour tour.

This was an exceptional activity. We love to learn and our knowledgable guide provided information about our surroundings and sea life. We were in a relaxed and friendly environment which is needed for the varied ablilities of the kayakers.

I would recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in nature. It is not overly difficult to paddle the kayak and is lots of fun. You get to see lots of different animals including many different species of birds. The guide was extremely knowledgable and enthusiatic in his finding and sharing information about critters of the sea. He even allows for hands on when appropriate. I say if you are thinking about doing this trip----you should!!!!

My fiancé and I read about this trip on a few websites. We called and made reservations and everyone was extremely polite on the phone (they even pick you up at your hotel). The kayaking tour was better than we could have imagined and, for the price, it was the best thing we did while in Key West. We were told by some locals that the winter months might have limited sea life (we went in December) but we were amazed at everything that we saw...lobsters, crabs, sea hares, sea urchins, sea cucumbers...to name a few. Obviously each kayak tour will be different and the underwater creatures will vary but just navigating through pitch black mangrove channels at night with nothing but a headlamp provides you an amazing look into a different type of Key West nightlife. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone. I would just suggest you prepare to get a little wet from the paddling (kind of cold during winter) and perhaps bring a change of clothes and a towel.

Chris showed us around the beautiful mangroves. He plucked neat things from the water for us to see up close(starfish, conch, sea urchins, and a cowery) then returned them to their home. I was concerned that the strong wind(17 mph according to the weather channel) and choppy water would make it hard to paddle, but it was easy to navigate. It would have been easier to see the things in the water if the wind and water were calmer, but there was plenty to see. Even those in the group that were older didn't have trouble keeping up. It was a GREAT experience that I would repeat on a future trip!

This tour was educational, fun, and different the the average tour. Very much enjoyed and will definetely recommend to our friends.

The Sunset Kayak Tour was fun and informative. We had a nice sized group (six people) and could easily hear the naturalist describe flora and fauna. She also passed around some critters to those who chose to handle them. Using the headlamps while paddling under the mangrove roots was a unique experience, and I would have enjoyed more time in the mangroves. If you are interested in the mangrove ecosystem, and enjoy kayaking at night, then this tour is for you!
