A disappointing day

The beautiful weather was the best thing about our wine tour on Nov. 12. The Boomerang bus reeked of vomit. It was vile. Our visits to the vineyards -- which had very pleasant seating areas, both inside and out -- were much too long. We stayed at the second vineyard for over two hours, which the quality of the wine did not merit, and which no doubt contributed to some folks in the group getting completely smashed by the time we left. On a winetour in Sonoma, we had an opportunity to learn about the winemaking process, and that proved very interesting. If you're going to stay at a tasting for over two hours, those who might not want to be drinking steadily for the duration might like to talk to a vintner and learn something about the operations of the vineyard.

Best Way to Spend a Saturday with Friends

This is my second time on the wine tour - its always a blast. Whether you're with a boyfriend or a close friend, the tour always guarantees a fun crowd and a good flow of energy. This past tour was filled with upper 20's mid 30's professionals who knew how to have a good time. Got a chance to interact with different groups and meet a lot of cool people. I would highly recommend this to my girl friends or another couple. Highly entertaining and relaxing depending on the wine consumption.

Boomerang is the way to go if celebrating a special occasion with a group or you're just looking for a hassle free day to spend in the vineyards.

Disappointed this time around

I participated in the Boomerang wine bus 2 years ago and loved it. I went again with the same group of friends and while I had a lot of fun, I had some major disappointments. They seem to go to the same wineries each trip which are sister wineries. For us, one was a repeat. The other was not. It was also directly off a highway and the wine was terrible. TBoth made it pretty obvious that they weren't thrilled about us being there. Both also did one massive tasting with 40 people and that was it. Also, we paid $10 for each tasting although I saw on their site that they charge $7 so I'm not sure why they didn't appreciate us. I understand that the host can drink along with the guests and have fun, but my measure of him taking it too far is when he is drunker than I am. He was drunker than I was. And hitting on all the girls. Pretty gross in general. Not that this is Boomerang's fault, but two friends and I had split a bottle of wine. We had about 2/3 left when my large group lined up on the fence to take some silly pictures. All was well until we returned to collect our bottle of wine to get back on the bus. It was gone. I announced, "who took our bottle of wine" and an extremely drunk girl help up the exact type of wine (Seyval Blanc... I believe there were 3 white options) up in the air saying "I did". I said, "Can I have it back?" and she looked confused (and extremely drunk). I picked up an empty bottle of red and said, "hey, why don't we trade?" She came over and traded with me and then, of course, realizing it was empty, got upset. I told her that she just admitted to taking my wine and the host intervened. Since I obviously couldn't prove my case, I gave the bottle back to her. On our way to the bus, the guy with her (I'm going to assume/hope not her boyfriend since she was blatantly chasing after a guy in our crew) said to us "girls, why don't you make up?" and she called me a bitch. I said that I wasn't interested in making up until I got my bottle of wine back. When I passed them on the bus, they both called me a bitch. Oh, and the 'boyfriend' earlier had exclaimed, and I quote, "where's my Burberry scarf!?" I looked around and the bottle was literally the only white bottle on the bus. (Again, their wine was terrible. Particularly the whites but I'm just not a red drinker.)

This was my fourth time on the Boomerang Wine Bus. I always have a wonderful time and had a fantastic time during my last experience. However, NO ONE enjoyed the Bogati winery. The wines were disgusting and a waste of my $10 tasting fee. Although I always have an enjoyable time, I will no longer continue to participate on the Boomerang wine bus if it continues going to the Bogati winery. I don't understand why this company continues to take it's clients to that winery when no one cares for their wine.

We visted Veramar and Bogati Vineyards. It was a beautiful day, and the Bogati vineyard was a little larger that Veramar, however Veramar had a wide range of wines. Overall, good experience.

Great host. Great first Vineyard.

The host was excellent and the schedule was great as it allowed for us to enjoy each spot. However, after the phenomenal first vineyard we were taken to a shabby stop off the highway which was posing as the second vineyard and besides the wine being terrible - the location was horrible too. Would have preferred skipping that all together. Was not happy to spend $20 on wine tasting fees (which are usually $5 / person) but especially not for such a terrible second vineyard. Only disappointing part of the day - it was otherwise great.

Drunken Shennanigans During the Day and Bad Wine

I have been on several boomerang night time party buses and they are always fun and debaucherous. This was my first day time boomerang trip and any expectations I had that it would be less ridiculous during the day were quickly shattered when one of the guys on the bus started puking from chugging straight vodka. Really this is just a day time party bus so be up for some hard core day time drinking or be prepared to be the "sober ones" on the bus. Also, you do NOT go to vineyards, you go to two Virginia wineries. The first winery we went to, Dry Mill, did not have a single drinkable wine. While it was lovely weather and a perfect day to go to wineries and eat outside the bus itself is only for those prepared to day drink...and hold their booze.
