Our tour was amazing! The bus was decorated and our tour director Dave was super friendly! He took the time to find everyone on the bus when we needed to leave one bar and head out to the next. All the bars we went to were great and we enjoyed making new friends with the other individuals on our tour. Additionally, on the bus we all danced to the energetic music and took pictures with other tour members. The bus was pretty diverse group filled with singles, couples, and groups of people. Everyone had a good vibe and we are looking forward to booking a future tour! You will not be disappointed on any of the Boomerang tours!

Boomerang does it again

The Boomerang bus has come a long way. Just a few months ago it was relatively unknown when I first rode it, and I'm glad to see it has grown into a popular attraction in DC. The St. Patty's day trip was a good time as expected. Dave was a great host and overall it was organized and safe. I'll be on future trips for sure! Good job once again to Nikki and Dave!!

Overall, the party bus on St. Patrick's day was a good time! Not all of the bars were great but there was a good mix and the bus took us all over DC.

A group of us went on the St. Patty's bus tour and had a great time. The tour hosts were lots of fun and the bus was very festive. The best part was not having to wait in line to get into the bars (although I can't say the same for the bathroom lines!). I would definitely recommend the Boomerang Party Bus!

Initially I thought there might be problems with lines and crowds on the St. Patrick's Day outting. However, I was pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to wait in lines and the planning of the whole day went very smoothly! Our group had a great time and would definitely plan on doing other events!

Overall a fun night if you like the bar scene

First and foremost, the hosts were EXCEPTIONAL! They were very nice, extremely professional...and very fun to hang with on the bus (oh, and they were both too cute for words!). I have to say the idea of the party bus is excellent - but I think the overall experience completely depends on the bars that are on the schedule for that evening. Out of the four bars we went to, two were just okay and we LOVED one (had a great time, didn't want to leave) and HATED one (wanted to leave 5 minutes after we got there). Unfortuantely, if you don't like the bar, you are stuck - as the bus leaves (along with anything you left on the bus). Also, the bars were SO crowded (some were crowded before we got there while others WE made crowded once we arrived) that it was hard to even get to the bar to see about ordering the drink specials. That said, I realize the DC bar scene is hopping, so I am sure that every bar would be equally as busy all night, so that isn't the fault of the tour! The only other minor thing is that our bus felt very crowded--partially, I'm sure, because it's a school bus and most adults I know would have a hard time sitting and being comfortable in those small seats! I am not sure where we would have stored our alcohol (had we actually brought any on the bus with us). Overall, though, we had a good time. We were with a fun group of people and as I said, the hosts were great. But, honestly, I think I am just getting too old for the crowded bar scene so I probably wouldn't do this again!

Improvements Needed

The night started out okay. Front Page, Adams Mill, and Rumors were okay choices. The bus was kind of ghetto...a SCHOOL BUS painted blue with cheesy quotes about alcohol that haven't been cool since you were 19 and in college. They also have streamers hanging inside...watch out for the "Zona Caliente." Most of us were expecting a hotel shuttle bus type arrangement, so we were, ahem, surprised. The music played on the bus was AWFUL. By the end of the night, most people were too drunk to care, but who plays Jackson 5 and Johnny Cash on a party bus in DC? Apparently, Boomerang. The organization of the whole evening could have been much better. The tour organizers did not inform us of which bars we exactly were going to until we left the previous bar. This was annoying and gave us the feel that even they didn't know where we were going. It was also difficult spreading the word when the bus was leaving. You would think the organizers would have the DJ make an announcement that the Boomerang tour was leaving (this is what happens in other bar hops I've been on). But instead, the tour organizers ran around telling people, we're leaving in 10 minutes, pass it on, we're leaving in 5 minutes, pass it on. We left crowded Rumors with far fewer people than we arrived with and I do not know if this was cognizant decision on those people’s behalf or not. When we got to Adams Mill and went upstairs the bartenders knew nothing of the "one free beer" we had been promised by Boomerang staff and the bartenders proceeded to mock us for asking. We eventually found out that you had to get the free beer downstairs. There was no communication to this effect. Then when we arrived at Rumors we were promised $3.00 Coors Light (yuck) specials by Boomerang. People in our group were charged anything from $2.50 to $3.50 and everywhere in between. And then our final destination of Ultra Bar…. This was the dance club we had been promised all night. The only problem was the entire group was dressed for Front Page/Rumors and NOT for a club. To complicate matters, it took forever to get off the bus because Ultra staff entered the bus, checked ID's, stamped, and gave us VIP tickets and they took their sweet time about it too. (Although I admit the VIP was a nice touch.) We entered Ultra quickly and were shuttled upstairs where we all were grossly out-of-place. You were able to go downstairs, but it was packed as you would expect at a club at 1:30 on a Saturday night. All in all, I think the Boomerang concept is a good one, but it’s got a long way to go. Maybe if we were all tourists and didn’t know better, the experience would have been better. The bars the tour visited did not seem to care that Boomerang was there and this is why: The good DC bars are going to do a good business whether Boomerang visits them or not. If you want to offer a better service, you need to get the businesses you visit to buy into your product.

The actual time spent on the bus was super, super fun and watching everyone go crazy on the bus, which could only remind one of middle school fieldtrips, was fantastic. What ruined the night for me was that we spent too much time at bars that I would not normally show my face in. I don't mind going to bars I hate so much as I mind spending an hour and a half at a mess of a place like Rumors. Would be more fun if you spent half an hour at each bar and went to many, many bars. More time on the bus would be fun too. If nothing else, an amazing anthropological experience.

Although I was somewhat skeptical at first, I had a blast on the Boomerang! Our "bus hosts" were very friendly, upbeat, and greatly contributed to the party atmosphere. We were given ample time to enjoy each venue and we never felt rushed. It was also great to get access to certain places without having to pay the cover. There were only some minor annoyances. First, the bus was a little overcrowded (there were a few people who didn't have a seat). Second, the venues chosen for the evening - Adams Mill, Rumors, and Ultrabar - were quite random and had no real theme, although I did go to some cool places that I never would have tried previously.

A Unique Experience

Sure, some of the bars I wouldn't normally go to, but other than not being able to pick your own bars (unless you rent out the entire bus), this experience was awesome!! Nikki, the organizer, is always so professional but fun and the best part is riding the bus through town----drinking and dancing the whole time----i recommend this especially for birthday parties.

My only suggestion would be to dump the club that we ended up at off of the rotation. It was too packed and it took way too long to get in. The night kind of went down hill after we left Rumors.
