We had a great time walking through the streets of Boston with our guide, Alan. He knew the history of the area. Equally important, he knew folks who live in work in the area, and was greeted by several. Just a lot of fun those interested in both history and neighborhoods. |

I would definitely recommend this tour. The tour guide was a very knowledge, affable fellow with an endearing pride in his city and an accent to match. Back Bay and Beacon Hill are of course beautiful and historically rich neighborhoods.
Highlights included Louisberg Square in Beacon Hill. |

This is our first time to Boston, spent a few days before boarding the cruise, the is no better way to walk with a knowledge guide to learn about the history (at least a tiny bits) of the City. |

We had a great 2 hour tour with Alan. He knows everything you need to know about Boston from architecture to history. He clearly loves to explore Boston and share his passion for the city. Although I prepared for our visit with a guide book, the walking tour added a valuable human dimension and detail to our visit. Highly recommended. |

Not only was Alan an encyclopedia of the city but he was very witty and helpful. The tour itself was a great sampling of the history and beauty of Boston and Alan pointed out things that I would have never noticed had I been strolling on my own. As a first time visitor I wanted to get a sample of the city that would encompass a variety of experiences and this was the perfect tour. I have seen other cities by bus or trolley but walking puts a new perspective on the architecture and horticulture that is missed by buzzing by on wheels. I can't say one negative thing about this tour as I was impressed by the casual yet highly educational experience. Alan even helped me find a better (cheaper) place to park my car for the weekend and made some GREAT suggestions for restaurants which I visited and enjoyed very much! It is a two hour walking tour so wear comfortable shoes, bring a bottle of water and take in all of the sights and experiences of this wonderful city. |

Pleasant walking tour; a bit on the slow side

I enjoyed learning more about Boston history and points of interest. Alan, the guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to. We had four in the group which was a nice manageable size. It was a bit slow paced (we walked slowly and stopped a lot; it took time to get the group together at the meeting place), but I recommend this tour to anyone of any age and physical ability to check it out. Since Boston is a fantastic walking city, it would be fun to do two in a row, especially if they are in nearby neighborhoods. Fairly priced. |

I treated my mom and husband to this tour during my graduation weekend -- I'm so glad I choose this particular tour. Alan was very knowledgable and witty, and extrememly patient with my mom, who is 78 and walked slower than the rest of us in the small group. We got a great overview of the Back Bay and the Freedom Trail, and learned a lot of interesting facts about the city's history. The tour ran a little over two hours, and covered a lot of historical information, so I wouldn't suggest it for young children. But the length of the tour and the content is very appropriate for adults of all ages. |

My girlfriend and I loved this walking tour. I loved the storytelling of the guide, Allen. He included much interesting and irreverent detail of the historical context, life and times of Back Bay and the growth of the people and places. He was knowledgeable and funny. |

Experienced leader with good communication skills.
Tour might have covered too much ground for just 2 hours. That is, probably could have spent more time at each stop. |
