Really enjoyed the walking tour. Our guide (Alan) was both knowledgeable & entertaining. I don't know if there is a maximum group size but we had 12 participants which was a nice size. We saw many "classic" historic sites along with a number of very interesting locations I had never heard of before. I highly recommend this tour - it's a good value. |

Well..I lucked out. I turned out to be the only member of the group that Alan, my guide, took around that morning. This meant that he could walk and talk as the conversation & questions were only limited to one face. So, he fit a lot in that morning as we walked from the old State building to Boston Commons to Acorn Street (a must stop & click multiple pix place) and out to Boylston St and the most expensive parking spot in town. Could not say enough about Alan. Very knowledgeable, humorous, easy-going, and pleasant fellow. Next time I'm in town, I'd certainly do another tour and hope that Alan is, again, my tour guide. Best $25 spent in my week long visit. Be sure to tip well!!! It is well deserved. |

I treated my mom and husband to this tour during my graduation weekend -- I'm so glad I choose this particular tour. Alan was very knowledgable and witty, and extrememly patient with my mom, who is 78 and walked slower than the rest of us in the small group. We got a great overview of the Back Bay and the Freedom Trail, and learned a lot of interesting facts about the city's history. The tour ran a little over two hours, and covered a lot of historical information, so I wouldn't suggest it for young children. But the length of the tour and the content is very appropriate for adults of all ages. |

I was fortunate to be the only person booked on to this walk. The guide was friendly and obviously loved all aspects of his city of Boston and wanted to share it with me. I felt that he tailored the information to fit with my interests and was always willing to answer my questions .At no point did I feel that he was reciting from a prepared text. A thoroughly satisfying and enjoyable experience. I will definitely book another tour with this company on my next visit to Boston. |

Compact tour to look around Boston from a part of very historical to contemporary places. Tour guide we had was very gentle and with enough knowledge to explain and answer to questions. Recommended to people who stay short time but want to see Boston as much as possible. |

I booked this tour before coming to Boston. I also did the Cambridge walking tour. Both were wonderful! Our guide was kind, well spoken and very knowledgable. I highly recommend this tour. |

We had a small group (5 folks) on our tour, while the other tours (the costume people) that we saw were crosded and had 25-35 people. Our guide was very knowledgeable, just enough fun, full of information, could answer all questions, and we went 20 minutes longer than advertised (good value). It was more that just a history tour, and also included a bigger view of Boston and culture. Well worth it, and our guide Alan was great....if his name was Joe Boston, it would fit. Excellent tour! highly recommended...... |

My girlfriend and I loved this walking tour. I loved the storytelling of the guide, Allen. He included much interesting and irreverent detail of the historical context, life and times of Back Bay and the growth of the people and places. He was knowledgeable and funny. |

We had a great tour with Alan. He was very knowledgeable but not Overly Scholastic. We felt like a local friend was telling us about his town and its history rather than being lectured to. We went on the 2 hour walk and it was just the right amount of time to make us feel comfortable in the city. I will definitely recommend it to friends who travel. |

Experienced leader with good communication skills.
Tour might have covered too much ground for just 2 hours. That is, probably could have spent more time at each stop. |
