My daughter and I took the walking tour last week. We had a delightful time, and would do it again in a heartbeat. The company worked with us to tailor the time to our traveling schedule, with a starting time half an hour later to accomodate the bus and subway schedules. It was just the two of us, and it felt like we were walking with a friend through town. Rick was the best! |

I enrolled for this walking tour of Brooklyn because I had never been to Brooklyn before and didn't have much time to explore it at my own pace (I was leaving the US that very night). Since I wanted a lot of information in a short span of time and also wanted to get the "feel" of Brooklyn, I decided to take this walking tour. Rick, our tour guide, was really informative and nice. He has lived all his life in Brooklyn and his passion for the place shows when he talks to you. He was attentive and would wait if someone was on the phone so that they didn't miss out any of the information he was giving. We started the tour from Union St and 4th Ave and went up to Prospect Park and then walked back. On the way, we saw many beautiful houses, churches and public places and Rick regaled us with information, history, and anecdotes on a lot of them. For someone like me who didn't have much time but also wanted to get an insider's take on his own city, this was a great tour.
If it was slightly reasonably priced, it would be an added bonus. At $42, the fee is a little steep. I went on a really good historic walking tour of Lower Manhattan which lasted 2 hours and they charged only $18. I know Rick's tour was 3 hours and he gave us water and a slice of pizza, but perhaps, he can eliminate the food and instead price the tour a little low... That's my only suggestion. Otherwise, I had a great time and didn't regret opting for the tour. I would recommend it! |

We really enjoyed our Brooklyn tour with Rick. He is proud of being from South Brooklyn and gave us a real insider's view of the borough. Our group of 6 loved the trivia he told us, the different areas he walked us through and the slice of pizza at the end. Everyone's favourite part was walking through Prospect Park. It was beautiful and green on the day we were there. We have been to Manhattan several times and were curious to explore Brooklyn as an alternative to Manhattan. Rick fit the bill perfectly. We know what trains to take to get there, what the shopping and eating areas are and we love knowing the background of the neighbourhoods. Thanks! |

Loved the walk through Park Slope and the personal stories throughout the walk by Rick. There is definitely an advantage to having a resident who has grown up and lives in the area. Rick's enthusiasm about the neighbourhood and his personal experiences on every corner brought it to life in a great way. Highly recommend the tour. |

For someone new to Brooklyn, this is a great way to get a first closer look. Rick is a great guide with a lot of interesting stories to tell.
Although you can only see a very small part of Brooklyn during the walk, the tour definitely makes you want to see more.
