Rick was a totally engaging, knowledgeable tour guide and my parents and I learned a lot about Park Slope and Prospect Park, without being overwhelmed. The best part of the tour is that Rick is from the neighborhood, he knows it's history first hand and he knows the people! My parents are from Germany and I've been a New Yorker for 10 years and we all had a great time. My dad hates walking and he had a blast! I would take anyone that comes to visit NY on this tour and I will recommend it to all the locals!!

I have been on many, many tours through the years and this one definitely tops the list. Tour guide is born and raised in Brooklyn, has seen with his own eyes many changes through the years, and is very well versed on the history of individual homes and historic sites. He knows personally much of what has happened in Brooklyn because he was part of it. He has personality and enthusiasm to spare and obviously cares about this area.

Rick is a great guide. A local who grew up in Brooklyn and has in depth knowledge of his city and its history. I loved the old architecture and the stories of its early residents. The pizza at the end of the tour was a nice touch. Starting point was easy to reach by subway. There is more to New York than Manhattan.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour! So fun to get to know this part of Brooklyn with Ric, who has been part of the community all his life. He gave us (myself and 2 of my adult children, who live in Brooklyn) the opportunity to see it through the eyes of someone who has lived it. Anecdotes of growing up in the neighborhood enhance the tour tremendously and his thirst for and research of tidbits of information give him an amazing knowledge of the high points of the area. It was fun and I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in getting "off the beaten track" from the usual highly touristed areas of NYC.

Rick is a great guide. He really knows the area, has taken time to research history and architecture, is able to throw in some interesting and funny stories, and has a good rapport with area residents, which allows for some nice surprises along the way. He keeps a good pace on the tour and his demeanor makes it fun and comfortable. All of this makes for an enjoyable time. Another good thing about this tour is that you can wait to see what the weather is before booking it (must book before 11:00, tour starts at 12:00). I definitely recommend the tour and hope that Rick expands to include other areas of Brooklyn.

Loved this tour - what a surprise - Brooklyn is gorgeous, funky, and fun ! Rick, the tour operator and guide, is incredibly knowledgeable, (seems like there's nothing he doesn't know about Brooklyn) affable, flexible, funny, and fun. We had two generations in the group and everyone had a great time. Prospect Park seemed particularly lovely in Spring., with everything in bloom. Imagine it's also gorgeous in the Autumn. Lots of good stuff to eat in Brooklyn, too, including complimentary slice of pizza pie!

Big Rick is a very proud member of his community. He gave us a good sense of the history of the Park Slope area. We enjoyed the tour. It would enhance tour if Rick added visit to inside of some buildings - or even a few stops at shops we passed on the avenues. Some hints on places to eat if we come back to the area would be great - might be nice to add a stop in the library as part of tour.

Our guide Rick, did a fantastic job of infuesing history, fact, and folk lore of the area. He really understood the architecture of the beautiful buildings around his town. I have already, and will continue to recommend this tour, and on our next visit we look forward to any other tours he'll be doing.
