| On July 11, three of us had a tour of Park Slope given by Rick. Rick is very, very knowledgeable about this area, its history, and architecture. Rick himself is charming, fun, and colorful.
This tour was exactly as promised - - even more!
We look forward to another adventure with Rick! |

| My friend and I enjoyed the tour, especially the brownstone neighborhoods and the park. We enjoyed, also, the history of what we saw and the stories of people past and present. There was, however, too much architecture discussed for our tastes. |

| On Friday, June 20th 2008 my sister and one of our friends met Rick for a tour. The first thing we were impressed with was the fact that our tour included Rick and the three of us. We were expecting a larger group and it was nice to have Rick all to ourselves and be able to ask questions. We were so impressed with Rick's knowlege of the architecture of all the buildings in Brooklyn. The detail he pointed out was nothing we would have noticed on our own. Afterwards we wondered how much research he had to do to learn all of the information he knew. Rick was just a very personable, easy to get along with person. We had such a great time laughing, joking and learning with him. It really made us appreciate a place we had never been before, and will definitely come back to. We were three girls from Pittsburgh that day, who were blown away with the beauty of Brooklyn. We would most definitely recommend a tour with Rick to anyone. Thanks Rick, we loved it. :)

| When we walked down Brooklyn's 4th Avenue we wondered what we have let ourselves in for. The body shops and building works on such a wide avenue looked less than attractive, but don’t be mislead.
On meeting our host at the Brownstone Bagel and Bakery (Who do exceptional bagels) things got instantly better.
Rick (our guide) is someone you can instantly like and has that authentic New York drawl we English love. You can almost see him in an old James Cagney gangster movie. He instantly takes us away from 4th Avenue and any worries we had are gone. Rick’s knowledge of the area, its history and culture is extensive, obviously his miss spent youth wasn’t so miss spent.
While we follow him through the streets of Brooklyn he is both informative and good humored. His obvious love for the area, its architecture and history come through by the bucket full.
You should treat yourself to another side of New York often not seen. Ask lots of questions, Rick will have the answer and enjoy. Even the pizza is good. |

| Rick was the best guide! He knew the neighborhood well, because he has lived there his whole life. He also appears to have heavily researched the history behind many of the homes in the community, down to the arcitecture. He was very personable, and it was obvious that he cares about his home town. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to learn more about Brooklyn and its history. |

| Even though we were 15 minutes late, Rick waited for us in the pouring rain. He didn't try to rush us and, in fact, gave us an extra half hour (maybe because we ducked in for cover in a few buildings along the way). He was a great guide, very warm and with an obvious love for his city! |

| The day started pretty rainy, but as soon as we (two girls) came to Brooklyn on the subway, it all cleared up. We'd had this trip highly recommended, so we were very excited to experience this tour in Brooklyn with a local guide. And indeed, we had full value for our money! It was all the more a personal experience as we had our great guide to ourselves. His enthusiasm in telling us the local history of Park Slope, the Williamsburg bank, Prospect Park, etc was great - a contrast to the more hectic experience of midtown and downtown Manhattan.
Good luck with creating this tour!! |

| Big Rick guided my friend and me throught the most interesting part in Park Slope.
His knowledge and good humor made this tour special. I would highly recommend it. I hope he will do more tours like this in Brooklyn.
I found it especially nice to finish off at a Pizza Place, gave us a chance to talk.
Well done.

| Big Rick and his Tour Grows In Brooklyn walking tour is highly recommended by both my traveling companion and myself. When we went on the tour we were the only two people, which was terrific and personal. Rick is a very personable man with a great deal of knowledge of his old neighborhood. Not only do you find yourself looking at amazing architecture and the glory of a bygone era, you get first hand information about the history of Brooklyn - where he and his family lived for generations, and the transformation of the area. Rick also points out architectural elements that one wouldn't find on the first or the second visit to a building or neighborhood - since he is such a seasoned veteran. I highly recommend this tour not only for what he can show you, but also for the personal knowledge he provides...oh and the pizza! |
