Very Nice
Sat, May 3, 08   1:30 PM torya61 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
My husband, my adult son and myself did the tour and it was one of the highlights of our weekend in NYC. The best part of the tour was the opportunity to see things that we would not have if we would have come into Brooklyn ourselves. Big Rick is excellent at what he does. We went on to spend a few more hours in Brooklyn that day and returned after Bike NY on Sunday for dinner. The tour ntroduced us to a new world to explore.

You will be hard pressed to find someone more enthusiastic and passionate about Brooklyn than "Big Rick". By the end of the tour I almost wanted to live there. Great tour and if you go to Brooklyn as a tourist and you do not take this tour then you will be missing out on an opportunity. Thanks Rick, Steven and Tina.

A wonderful New York tourist experience!

Big Rick and his Tour Grows In Brooklyn walking tour is highly recommended by both my traveling companion and myself. When we went on the tour we were the only two people, which was terrific and personal. Rick is a very personable man with a great deal of knowledge of his old neighborhood. Not only do you find yourself looking at amazing architecture and the glory of a bygone era, you get first hand information about the history of Brooklyn - where he and his family lived for generations, and the transformation of the area. Rick also points out architectural elements that one wouldn't find on the first or the second visit to a building or neighborhood - since he is such a seasoned veteran. I highly recommend this tour not only for what he can show you, but also for the personal knowledge he provides...oh and the pizza!

Highlight of my trip!

Big Rick is equal parts storyteller, historian, architecture maven, and street-corner philosopher. The tour was just a blast -- we learned a lot and had a wonderful time. It was a highlight of my trip to New York and I would urge anybody who loves history and architecture (not to mention pizza and interesting characters!) to give it a go!

An opportunity to really experience Brooklyn

The Brooklyn walking guided tour that I attended was an absolute success. I can recommend this tour as for it's way it gave me an impression of this part of New York. Richard demonstrated a thorough knowledge of practicaly every house or building we passed. He is a great storyteller. And he knows his way around on architecture and on people that lived there in the past. He gained his experience on a very practical base: having lived in the neighbourhood all his life. Walking through the streets was combined with walking through the park. Even a very Brooklyn like thing to do as pizza eating was comprised. An absolute recommendation !!

We can't praise enough the experience that Rick gave us in his wonderful A Tour Grows in Brooklyn! He gave a fascinating, lively, and personally engaging tour of a wonderful area of Brooklyn. He has a wonderful knowledge of architectural styles and history in the area, which is enhanced by his personal stories of growing up there. He's great at answering questions, and eager to learn bits of information we knew. And he went above and beyond the requirements of the tour, taking us by car on a delightful tour of a major cemetary that expanded upon the themes in the walking tour. He made us feel special! Bravo, Rick!

Very fun walking tour from a guy who grew up in the neighborhood. This means you get fun stories in addition to architectural commentary and city history. if you like walking tours, check this one out.

Rick, the tour guide, is a Brooklyn native and provides a very enjoyable walking tour of an interesting part of Brooklyn. The tour mixes architectural observations with comments about the area's history, and it provides a very nice introduction to this part of NYC. It also points out some nice areas that one could visit further on one's own (shopping, parks, museums, etc.)

Great Way to Spend a Day!
Fri, Jan 18, 08   10:00 AM Abby54 Female 40-49 Local Family Without Children
This was a fun and informational tour of Brooklyn, featuring many beautiful architectural landmarks and homes, Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza, and shopping on Brooklyn's "New Fifth Avenue." Tour guide Rick clearly has a passion and a great deal of knowledge of his native Brooklyn. We had a great three hours on a beautiful winter day, including a stop for some great Brooklyn pizza, included in the tour. Definitely recommended for something different in New York City!
