A gem of a walk

A group of us went on Ric's Brooklyn Tour, A Tour Grows in Brooklyn, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Ric was knowledgeable and pleasant and full of information about what we were seeing. It was a treat to be introduced to this neighborhood by a 'home boy'!

Rick was an enthusiastic, well-informed, and entertaining guide. A native Brooklynite, he knew the dish on the area. From infamous mobsters to beautiful architectural details to historical revolutionary battles to well-known actors and musicians, Rick's got something of interest for everyone. His colorful stories made the tour!! I recommend it to locals and tourists alike!! You won't walk away disappointed.

See the "real" New York!

Rick led us on a very interesting and informative tour of a small part of Brooklyn. It was obvious he loved the area and the people and wanted to share it. This was a glimpse of what life is -and was - like for the average person in Brooklyn. A must for visitors and locals who want to get beneath the surface glitz and glamour of Manhattan. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

A true slice of Brooklyn!

Rick was a totally engaging, knowledgeable tour guide and my parents and I learned a lot about Park Slope and Prospect Park, without being overwhelmed. The best part of the tour is that Rick is from the neighborhood, he knows it's history first hand and he knows the people! My parents are from Germany and I've been a New Yorker for 10 years and we all had a great time. My dad hates walking and he had a blast! I would take anyone that comes to visit NY on this tour and I will recommend it to all the locals!!

Very interesting tour. Guide was very good. Only wished he had walked a little slower.

Loved this tour - what a surprise - Brooklyn is gorgeous, funky, and fun ! Rick, the tour operator and guide, is incredibly knowledgeable, (seems like there's nothing he doesn't know about Brooklyn) affable, flexible, funny, and fun. We had two generations in the group and everyone had a great time. Prospect Park seemed particularly lovely in Spring., with everything in bloom. Imagine it's also gorgeous in the Autumn. Lots of good stuff to eat in Brooklyn, too, including complimentary slice of pizza pie!

Perfect weather made this an even better tour

Big Rick is a very proud member of his community. He gave us a good sense of the history of the Park Slope area. We enjoyed the tour. It would enhance tour if Rick added visit to inside of some buildings - or even a few stops at shops we passed on the avenues. Some hints on places to eat if we come back to the area would be great - might be nice to add a stop in the library as part of tour.

Rainy day with Rick
Sat, Apr 11  12:00 PM Critch Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We took the walking tour of Brooklyn with Rick on the Saturday before Easter. Rick called that morning to advise us to bring umbrellas. It is a good thing we did because it rained for all of the 3 hour tour. Rick made it enjoyable despite the weather. He is enthusiastic and has a wealth of information about Brooklyn. He grew up there and is able to tell you about the culture of the neighborhood then as well as now. He can tell personal stories as well as fill you in on the architecture and history of Brooklyn. He was able to give us tips on where to eat and what else to do in Brooklyn. If you want a slice of life in Brooklyn Rick is the the "go to guy".

My sister and I were lucky to be the only ones signed up for the tour on our day and Rick was the BEST tour guide - so funny and smart and entertaining! Even though it was cold and windy and at times drizzly, it was a fun-filled, QUICK 3 hours and we left with a real appreciation of the history and flavor of Brooklyn. We would recommend this tour to ANYONE, local or tourist, as you will find things out about Brooklyn that you never knew. We would definitely do another tour with Rick, maybe he will expand to other parts of Brooklyn?!?!
