| This tour has something interesting for absolutely everyone. We loved it. It was for three hours and we never got bored. Rick is very nice. All the way he made us feel taken care of, entertained, educated and inspired to learn something new. |

| It was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon learning about South Brooklyn,
Park Slope, Prospect Park etc. from someone who has lived in the neighbourhood all his life. It didn't really seem like 3hrs. |

| I really enjoyed the knowledge that our tour guide had about the neighborhood. I have lived in the Park Slope area for over a year and he was able to point out so many things that I have always wondered about and other things that I never noticed before. It definitely gave me a new appreciation for my neighborhood. I would recommend this tour for any one. |

| Rick met us across the street from the Subway Stop. It is a quiet, safe, economical ride in the subway from Manhattan. The area you come up from the subway seemed totally safe and secure. We crossed the street and met "Rick" who immediately ducked into a shop and came out offering us a bottle of water for our walking tour. Then he dove right in -- enthusiastically describing the area; the local landmark bank, the bank clock, and the transitions (and dangers) of living in the area for several generations. Rick also gave his own perspective on the future growth of the neighborhood. You couldn't help but immediately grow to like his affable personality. My wife and I noticed right away that he was "original" and quite enthusiastic about showing off his hometown. He was also rightly proud of all the folks that have made names from themselves who claim Brooklyn as their home. He's a master of the different styles of architecture in the neighborhoods around Park Slope and he easily handled our questions as we walked up Park Slope and through Prospect Park. About 2/3rds of the way through the tour you were treated to an authentic slice of Brooklyn pizza. Study up on how a Brooklyn native eats pizza or you'll instantly be spotted as a non-native. It was a wonderful experience and very enjoyable. The tour lasted about 2 hours and 45 minutes. It was not rushed nor forced. It felt long enough to feel like you got your money's worth, learned a bit about the area and not so long that you bored of the material he was presenting.
My wife and I would heartily recommend this tour and especially Rick.

| This was a fabulous walking tour from start to finish. It was a picture perfect day - Prospect Park, the architecture, the flavor of the area all brought to life. The pace was just right and Rick, our guide and lifelong Park Slope resident was colorful, knowledgeable and authentic ("My grandmother and I had the same grade school teacher"). The complimentary water at the start, the delicious local pizza at the finish and everything in between left our group all agreeing that this was a fun and interesting way to spend an afternoon. We left with a new appreciation of the history and beauty of Park Slope. Thanks, "Big Rick"! |

| We were all so pleased with Rick's tour. He gave us such insight into the Park
Slope neighborhood. It would never have been the rich experience it was if we all just walked around with a guide book. The tour covered all aspects of the area - history, cultural, social, architecture, gastronomic, and the evolution of the neighborhood over the years. Rick is a wonderful guide. He has an amazing sense of humor and tells stories of the neighborhood with such gusto. And he opened our eyes to so many things that we absolutely would have missed or never appreciated otherwise. Finally, he was very concerned that we all have a good time, gave us helpful recommendations on restaurants, and was caring enough to say we could call him if we got lost on our way home. This wasn't necessary, however, as he also gives great directions. It was a memorable time we were so happy we experienced. |

| Big Rick and his Tour Grows In Brooklyn walking tour is highly recommended by both my traveling companion and myself. When we went on the tour we were the only two people, which was terrific and personal. Rick is a very personable man with a great deal of knowledge of his old neighborhood. Not only do you find yourself looking at amazing architecture and the glory of a bygone era, you get first hand information about the history of Brooklyn - where he and his family lived for generations, and the transformation of the area. Rick also points out architectural elements that one wouldn't find on the first or the second visit to a building or neighborhood - since he is such a seasoned veteran. I highly recommend this tour not only for what he can show you, but also for the personal knowledge he provides...oh and the pizza! |
