We enjoyed Rick's tour very much. He is a Brooklyn native and has a great perspective on his neighborhood. He is familiar with the architecture of Brooklyn and pointed out many interesting homes and buildings on the tour. We covered a lot of ground, so wear your walking shoes. Rick provides a bottle of water to begin the tour and a slice of pizza to end the day. Nice touch!

The tour guide was charming- very much a real brooklynite. I enjoyed most his comparisions of park slope in his childhood and youth to today. The local history of a real life that had spanned some time in the neighborhood was the best part- to imagine the changes was fascinating. The architectural details that were pointed out were nteresting but I would have liked more hostorical context as to why those details may have been in vogue at the time- and a better understanding of who first lived in park slope and why they moved here. Maybe more statistics too about the park slope of today. The tour guide, Rick, was very enjoyable and personable and took good care of the group during the tour. We enjoyed the tour.

This was one of the most interesting and enjoyable tours of New York we have been on. We have been to Brooklyn a couple of times, but have always done tours in Manhattan. Rick does a great job. He knows the area very well, made recommendations about other places to go, and thoroughly answered all our questions. We would highly recommend this tour to others who want to see Brooklyn.

Rick did a fantastic job of orienting us to the Park Slope section of Brooklyn. The tour focused on the local history, architecture and some interesting cultural aspects of the area. We felt like we were visiting with an old friend. Put your walking shoes on and plan for a wonderfull 3 hours.

My wife and I had a great experience with Rick as our guide as he took us through the Brooklyn that he knew as a child, the Brooklyn in the early 1900's with an emphasis on the architecture, and the Point Slope section of Brooklyn that is today. Bring home the 4-pack of the monthly wine specials from Red, White, and Bubbly. We finished a beautify day by stepping back in time and eating dinner at "2 Toms" Italian restaurant that probably hasn't changed since Rick was a kid living down the street. Be prepared to take home plenty of left-overs. The steak was 3" thick. We can't wait for more tours and we will bring our friends. An informative and fun day. Karen and Mike, Manasquan, NJ

We were hoping to get a sense of the history, architecture and general flavor of South Brooklyn but what we got was so much more. Rick is a native of these neighborhoods and while he is a master of the facts of Park Slope and environs, it is his stories of the day-to-day life over many decades that he, his friends, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents actually experienced that really bring the place alive. And the pizza was great.

Stellar Brooklyn Walking Tour

Our tour guide Rick (also company owner) was informative, energetic, and enthusiastic about presenting the best of his city to us. Rick is a proud native who loves his city. As visitors, Rick welcomed us and was eager to instruct our group so we could better appreciate the history of his Brooklyn community. He is versed in the historical minutae regarding both local neighborhoods as well as landmark structures. If querried, Rick is willing to share from his vast plethora of insider tips/hints for a successful visit (eg: When I expressed my disappointment at not being able to purchase Yankees tickets prior to our trip departure in Chicago, he recommended we check for tickets the day of the game as a small amount of tickets are held back and released at face value at that time! Kudos, Rick! We were able to purchase two tickets for the game at prices significantly less than Cubbie tickets!). My husband and I savored the authentic pizza lunch which was included mid-way through our walking tour. This was the real deal, not some cookie cutter place like those scattered along every suburban strip across our country. The bottled water (also included with the tour ) was a thoughtful, classy touch. This is a great way to spend an afternoon or morning, but do wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing as this is a brisk walk covering quite a distance. Keep purses/backpacks to a minimum. Photo enthusiasts should bring an extra set of batteries for the digital camera. Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is also a worthwhile activity for visitors; however, I suggest a taxi and/or subway ride to the base of the Bridge from the spot where the tour concludes. Visitors will want to save their beans for the actual walk across the Bridge! There are numerous entreprenurial types offering ice cold water for a buck as you cross the Bridge. This is a fabulous way to cap off the walking tour. Also, the TKS booth near the Brooklyn Bridge closes for a couple of hours in the middle of the day for lunch. Better to purchase Theater tickets at the actual theater box office than to find out there is a 2+ hour time period mid-stream in the day where they close up shop. After Rick's Brooklyn Walking Tour, spend the time walking across the Brooklyn Bridge instead! We highly recommend the Walking Tour.

It was a broiling hot day in Brooklyn, but Big Rick took great care to keep us entertained (and in the shade as much as possible). He has a knack for telling stories and sharing historical and architectural information about a truly beautiful neighborhood. The pizza towards the end of the tour was a perfect pick-me-up. Take this tour--you won't be disappointed.
