| Myself (52), my husband (53) and our daughter (19) attended this tour and we really enjoyed it. Rick, our guide, grew up in the neighbourhood and still retains great affection for and pride in his Brooklyn roots. He was able to tell us many entertaining stories of the development of the neighbourhood.
We covered lots of ground at a comfortable pace, and saw the beautiful residential areas of Park Slope. Rick pointed out many social and architectural details that we never would have known otherwise. We saw Prospect Park, and many fascinating public buildings.
We finished with a slice of tasty pizza and continued to wander around the lovely streets of restaurants and boutiques after the tour finished. We ate at a restaurant Rick recommended and the food was delicious.
We then made our way to the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge and walked back into Manhattan, a pleasant half hour walk.
We had a great, informative and fun time with Rick and highly recommend this tour.

| Kevin is a character who knows a tremendous amount about Brooklyn and Park Slope. In particular he has detailed knowledge of architectural features of this great neighborhood and that was what I was most interested in. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn and check out more about Brooklyn. |

| I completed reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, by Betty Smith, two weeks before my husband and I travelled from Philadelphia to Brooklyn. This tour was delightfully informative -- mostly because Big Rick was a marvelous, fascininating, spellbinding storyteller. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he knows the city intimately. He focused on architecture and history, and he infused humor, as well. What a worthwhile walking tour, complete with water and pizza. I recommend it to out-of-towners, and I wished I'd brought my students! |

| My husband and I are Northeasterners (NY & NJ), my husband was acually born in Brooklyn but neither of us had ever spent time there. When I came across Rick's tour description, the first thing I liked about it was "a slice of pizza included"!!! Everyone knows the best pizza in the world comes from Brooklyn,so what could I do but sign up?! As it turned out, while the pizza was, indeed, the tastiest I've ever had, it paled next to experiencing Rick's absolutely CRAZY amount of knowledge about the neighborhoods and their histories, the amazing architecture and the people and places that were a part of his growing up in the area...Rick is so personable and so enthusiastic about the places we went that the 3 hours could easily be doubled and still he'd have things to show and places to visit...We'll definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something different, off the beaten path, and even educational! Thanks, Rick!! |

| Tour guide was GREAT! You really got a sense of what it was like to grow up and live in this neighborhood for the past 50 years, as well as how it has changed. |

| The timing was great. I had never heard of Prospect Park until the tour - and then read about the tribute to Michael Jackson on his birthday - in Prospect Park!!
And the personal info about growing up in Brooklyn was "priceless."
I highly recommend it. |

| This is a great tour, and reasonably priced. Ric is a great tour guide - proud of his community, knowledgeable about its background, history & architecture.
My only criticism was that there was a bit too much information to take in, though we did thoroughly enjoy ourselves. |

| I'm a long-time NYC resident (residing in Brooklyn for many years) and found plenty of stuff on Rick's tour that was new and exciting. I think this is a great way to spend a few hours, whether you're a local or here visiting for the first time.
If my observations are an accurate gauge, I'd imagine that the majority of tourists spend litte, if any, time in the outer bouroughs. Too bad because they're missing out on an an integral part of what makes NY the world class city that it is.
This tour gets you out of Manhattan, away from the most obvious tourist traps, and provides an opportunity to explore a wonderful Brooklyn neighborhood. |

| Rick, a native of Brooklyn, was extremely knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the buildings and neighborhood. Even though I live in the New York area, I am not a native of Brooklyn; but I felt like I lived there after my tour. I never knew there was such rich history in Brooklyn.
I highly recommend this tour even if you already live in Brooklyn! |
