A true slice of Brooklyn!
Mon, May 11  9:00 AM papallany Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Rick was a totally engaging, knowledgeable tour guide and my parents and I learned a lot about Park Slope and Prospect Park, without being overwhelmed. The best part of the tour is that Rick is from the neighborhood, he knows it's history first hand and he knows the people! My parents are from Germany and I've been a New Yorker for 10 years and we all had a great time. My dad hates walking and he had a blast! I would take anyone that comes to visit NY on this tour and I will recommend it to all the locals!!

ONE OF BEST TOURS
Fri, May 8  12:00 PM Rexdog123 Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
I have been on many, many tours through the years and this one definitely tops the list. Tour guide is born and raised in Brooklyn, has seen with his own eyes many changes through the years, and is very well versed on the history of individual homes and historic sites. He knows personally much of what has happened in Brooklyn because he was part of it. He has personality and enthusiasm to spare and obviously cares about this area.

One of the highlights of our visit.

Rick is a great guide. A local who grew up in Brooklyn and has in depth knowledge of his city and its history. I loved the old architecture and the stories of its early residents. The pizza at the end of the tour was a nice touch. Starting point was easy to reach by subway. There is more to New York than Manhattan.

Informative and interactive

The tour takes you through a the neighborhood of Park Slope and the guide explains the history of the neighborhood and how much it has changed over the last century. It's hard to believe that a neighborhood full of boutiques and cafes was derelict and blighted a few decades ago. The guide stops along the way to talk to friends and passersby, which makes you feel like you're part of the neighborhood. I recommend it to anyone interested in Brooklyn.

Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour! So fun to get to know this part of Brooklyn with Ric, who has been part of the community all his life. He gave us (myself and 2 of my adult children, who live in Brooklyn) the opportunity to see it through the eyes of someone who has lived it. Anecdotes of growing up in the neighborhood enhance the tour tremendously and his thirst for and research of tidbits of information give him an amazing knowledge of the high points of the area. It was fun and I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in getting "off the beaten track" from the usual highly touristed areas of NYC.

Rick's the man
Thu, Apr 23  12:00 PM denisharlock Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My wife & I toured with Rick mid April '09. He's a one man show - leading all tours himself. If you're looking for a 'Big Onion' large group, pre-scripted experience - this is not the place. If you are looking for good stories and the perspective of a 40 something, life long Brooklyn-er this is it ! I don't think that you will be disappointed. Thanx again Rick for your own view of this beautiful part of NY. Bravo !

Very interesting tour. Guide was very good. Only wished he had walked a little slower.
