I joined the Brooklyn tour with "Big Rick". He knows "his" area ver well and I enjoyed it so much walking and talking with him. Besides his great knowledge and the lively explainations, he is a very nice and caring person.

For some three hours in late September, Rick Kadlub provided us with a time machine - a vivid, unforgettable walk through Park Slope that was a journey through the ages. Rick's fabulous commentary took us back into history with political, architectural, artistic, literary and other insights that brought these areas to life. Most insightful and poignant were his personal recollections -- of Aunt Tootsie and Uncle Joe, his grandmother, the nun who taught his grandmother and him, and others in a cast of characters that brought Brooklyn, past and present, vividly to life. It was a mini-vacation, basically for the cost of a meal, accessible with a MetroCard! We look forward to exploring Brooklyn's other areas with Rick.

We learned so much about the history and architecture of Brooklyn. Never wanted the tour to end. Will certainly try another tour soon.

Wonderful tour - and we've been on many tours. Rick is knowledgable and fun. He has a wonderful way about him and runs his tour as though he is showing friends some of the most exciting things about his city. Join him for the day and you'll see what I mean. You'll learn, you'll have fun and you'll feel like you have in Brooklyn.

My husband and I take at least three walking tours each year in NYC. This one was the best.

Rick was knowledgeable of the architectural details of the buildings and parks. He shared his life-long passion and personal experience of Brooklyn. Anyone with any interest in Brooklyn would benefit by taking this tour.

Big Rick is a very proud member of his community. He gave us a good sense of the history of the Park Slope area. We enjoyed the tour. It would enhance tour if Rick added visit to inside of some buildings - or even a few stops at shops we passed on the avenues. Some hints on places to eat if we come back to the area would be great - might be nice to add a stop in the library as part of tour.

This was a tour I had been longing for for some time and it filled all my expectations. Our guide was knowledgeable, and chose many details that were interesting to comment on. A plus was that he had lived in a "south Park Slope" neighborhood all his life. The tour was never boring!

Big Rick is equal parts storyteller, historian, architecture maven, and street-corner philosopher. The tour was just a blast -- we learned a lot and had a wonderful time. It was a highlight of my trip to New York and I would urge anybody who loves history and architecture (not to mention pizza and interesting characters!) to give it a go!

My husband and I found this walking tour to be excellent. It was our first time in Brooklyn, and Rick was a gracious, enthusiastic host. He pointed out a lot of details and explained the history of the area and made it really fun. He encouraged stopping for photos (and I did take a lot of photos!), and he was able to answer all of our questions. It was great to hear about some of the "behind the scenes" information that Rick was able to tell us about since he's lived in the area all of his life. You can tell he loves his hometown. If we get to Brooklyn again, we would take this tour again. Rick mentioned that he's developing other tours in the area, so hopefully we'll be able to join him again. Thanks for a really enjoyable afternoon! Kathy
