For those that know Brooklyn or just want to get to know it this tour is excellent! Rick is a local expert who really knows the history, architecture and events that happened in the area of Park Slope, Brooklyn. I totally recommend this interesting and informative walking tour.

It was a broiling hot day in Brooklyn, but Big Rick took great care to keep us entertained (and in the shade as much as possible). He has a knack for telling stories and sharing historical and architectural information about a truly beautiful neighborhood. The pizza towards the end of the tour was a perfect pick-me-up. Take this tour--you won't be disappointed.

Cannot reccomend this tour highly enough. I did this tour on a freezing February day and when I turned up I was the only person booked for this day. Speaks volumes that Rick was more than happy to go ahead with the tour with just me on it. I have been fortunate enough to visit NYC on many occasions now and was looking for an alternative tour to find out more about the real neighbourhoods away from usual tourist haunts. This was by far the most informative, personal tour that I have been on. Rick was an absolute top bloke, lost count of the amount of locals who stopped said hello and had a few words with us. The areas we walked were full of character and interesting architecture with lots of stories from Ricks childhood being thrown into the mix. Spot on tour and if you read this please book as you wont be dissapointed.

My husband , two 20's daughters, and I went on a tour with RIck on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009; it was fantastic. He really knows the neighborhood and his tour was both informative and entertaining. My daughters want to move there, and my husband and I can't wait to go back to visit! Forget Manhattan; call Rick for a tour.

My friend and I enjoyed the tour, especially the brownstone neighborhoods and the park. We enjoyed, also, the history of what we saw and the stories of people past and present. There was, however, too much architecture discussed for our tastes.

Rick is a great guide. A local who grew up in Brooklyn and has in depth knowledge of his city and its history. I loved the old architecture and the stories of its early residents. The pizza at the end of the tour was a nice touch. Starting point was easy to reach by subway. There is more to New York than Manhattan.

The tour guide really gave a good flavor of the neighborhood he grew up in. I got a good sense of how it was in the seventies and how it gentrified to become the nice area it is today. I received a good cultural and historical perspective of the neighborhood and the Grand Army Plaza area. Would highly recommend.

My 24 year old daughter and I are both architecture nuts so this tour was ideal for us. Rick was so knowledgeable regarding different architectural styles and pointed out details that we'd never have noticed on our own. The 3 hour walking tour took us up and down some of the major streets in the neighborhood and we even went into Prospect park to have a look at the Long Meadow. We asked a few questions and there wasn't one that Rick couldn't answer. We were thoroughly satisfied with the tour. After we finished this tour we walked the Brooklyn Bridge over to Manhattan which was a real treat as well. We really enjoyed our day in Brooklyn. We highly recommend this tour!

Recommended for those who don't want an ordinary Gray Line or Double Decker tour in Manhattan. The tour guide is a really great guy. You indeed walk and walk and walk on this tour but don't have to bring your own water bottle. Find out why for yourself.
