I have always wanted to visit Brooklyn having read and seen so much about it over the years and I am so glad we discovered Rick and his walking tour. Rick's passion and enthusiasm is infectious. He grew up in the area and can tell you some fascinating and hilarious stories of his younger years and what it was like living in Brooklyn during this time. Rick also has an amazing knowledge of the history and architecture of the place and can give you a first hand account of how Brooklyn has changed and is still developing today. We took several tours during our stay in New York and this was by far best. Don't even consider booking another tour of Brooklyn...this is the one!

This is the second tour we have taken, the first being a walking/food tour of Greenwich Village and this Brooklyn tour. Our tour guide, Rick, was full of information. We enjoyed his stories of when he was a kid in Brooklyn. We would have enjoyed a bit more of a food tasting of Brooklyn shops, which may have given us a short time to sit every now and then. All in all, the tour was good and we were happy that we spent the time in Brooklyn.

He is also knowledgeable and fun. Bottom line , if you want a heart felt, organized tour of Brooklyn , this is the ONLY ONE to take!

Rick is a fourth generation Brooklynite. He not only knows the history .... He LOVES his neighborhood. And you will, too! You will see things and hear information only a resident and buff would know. For example: As we were walking the Park Slope area, he spotted one of his friends on his front stoop. The home is on the historical home tour. Rick said "hi, can we look?". And we did. Nuance upon nuance in addition to all the sights you would expect on this type of tour. The man is a great personality ... Always making sure his customers are moving at their desired pace, getting the information they need, and seeing what was expected ...always throwing in a bit of the unexpected. The walk is pleasant. I was using a cane at the time due to an injury but I had no trouble negotiating the path. I LOVED IT!!! We finished the day with pizza at a local favorite of his. At the end of the tour, I asked Rick the best route to take to visit the historical cemetery. He instantly said, "don't worry about it. I'll get you there.". And he did. He delayed his social appointment to not only take me to the cemetery but he threw in a 10-minute orientation to the place and made sure I knew where the subway station home was. All because he's that kind of guy. And of course, on the ride to the cemetery we must have passed 4 of his friends. Rick is a one of a kind person sharing a one of a kind tour of the Brooklyn he knows and loves. TREAT YOURSELF AND TAKE THIS TOUR!!!

Great tour and very informative. Enjoyed touring the historic brownstone streets and learning all the historic details. Rick is very enthusiastic with lots of first hand knowledge of the history of Brooklyn. Very enjoyable to get a tour from someone who was born and raised in Brooklyn!

Rick was fabulous. As a native Brooklynite, he was the perfect tour guide. He was funny, very informative about current and past Brooklyn. A real treat! I highly recommend it!

My sister & I spent 2 weeks visiting manhattan & brooklyn. We are UK tourists with a passion for history, architecture & just very curious minds - we like to know all about the very special places we visit. We wished we had found Rick's website earlier as we would definitely have booked more tours with him. What made Rick's tour so special and memorable was that, ulike all the other tour guides we booked, Rick talked about the area in great detail and with such expertise - we could have spent the whole day listening to him. Unlike other guides with a 'set patter' that they seem to pad out with a constant stream of jokes etc, Rick beguiled us with his stories on brooklyn's history and characters - past & present. For someone new to Brooklyn, the tour was a great way to get a first look. RK is very informative and we found his tour to be a wonderful experience. RK has a great personality, sense of humor and his knowledge of the area cannnot be compared. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone and hope to do it again soon!
