Best way to see Brooklyn
|

| "A Tour Grows in Brooklyn" is not to be missed. I learned more from "Big Rick" about Brooklyn and the Park Slope area than any guidebook. The history, the best places to eat, the architecture and famous Brooklynites were all covered and topped off with a slice of pizza at the end - can't say fairer than that! | ||||||

| This was the best activity I have ever participated in while visiting NYC. Rick was an excellent tour guide. He is very knowledgeable, interesting and fun. I never visited Brooklyn before our walking tour...we fell in love with Park Slope and plan to visit again in the future. I highly recommend this tour. Be brave and venture beyond Manhattan into Brooklyn and TAKE THIS TOUR. You will not be disappointed. | ||||||

| The Brooklyn walking guided tour that I attended was an absolute success. I can recommend this tour as for it's way it gave me an impression of this part of New York. Richard demonstrated a thorough knowledge of practicaly every house or building we passed. He is a great storyteller. And he knows his way around on architecture and on people that lived there in the past. He gained his experience on a very practical base: having lived in the neighbourhood all his life. Walking through the streets was combined with walking through the park. Even a very Brooklyn like thing to do as pizza eating was comprised. An absolute recommendation !! | ||||||

| Our tour guide was not only an expert on history and arquitecture of the neighbourhood, he was a real brooklynite, who could enrich our walk with his personal views, interesting stories and impressions. Thus the tour turned out to be truly interesting and full of life. The guide likes his job and loves his neighbourhood. I got a very good impressions of Brooklyn and had a great time. | ||||||

| Very fun walking tour from a guy who grew up in the neighborhood. This means you get fun stories in addition to architectural commentary and city history. if you like walking tours, check this one out. | ||||||

| Rick, the tour guide, is a Brooklyn native and provides a very enjoyable walking tour of an interesting part of Brooklyn. The tour mixes architectural observations with comments about the area's history, and it provides a very nice introduction to this part of NYC. It also points out some nice areas that one could visit further on one's own (shopping, parks, museums, etc.) | ||||||

| My husband, my adult son and myself did the tour and it was one of the highlights of our weekend in NYC. The best part of the tour was the opportunity to see things that we would not have if we would have come into Brooklyn ourselves. Big Rick is excellent at what he does. We went on to spend a few more hours in Brooklyn that day and returned after Bike NY on Sunday for dinner. The tour ntroduced us to a new world to explore. | ||||||

| Focuses on the Park Slope section of Brooklyn. Rick, the tour guide, grew up and lives in the neighborhood. In addition to the usual history and architectural highlights, he fills in with stories of growing up and describes how the neighborhood has changed over time. Most walking tours seem to run about $10 per hour, so at $30 for 3 hours with water and pizza thrown in, this is a good value for anyone who wants to see some of NYC outside Manhattan. | ||||||

| Rick was a knowledgable tour guide who kept us laughing throughout the tour. Although the tour is 3 hours long, it never felt too long nor too rushed; Rick was always willing to answer any question we had. My parents were in from out of town and it was a good way to begin their stay and also gave me and my wife information about the neighborhood we have lived in for a couple of years that we would probably never have known. | ||||||

| Myself (52), my husband (53) and our daughter (19) attended this tour and we really enjoyed it. Rick, our guide, grew up in the neighbourhood and still retains great affection for and pride in his Brooklyn roots. He was able to tell us many entertaining stories of the development of the neighbourhood. We covered lots of ground at a comfortable pace, and saw the beautiful residential areas of Park Slope. Rick pointed out many social and architectural details that we never would have known otherwise. We saw Prospect Park, and many fascinating public buildings. We finished with a slice of tasty pizza and continued to wander around the lovely streets of restaurants and boutiques after the tour finished. We ate at a restaurant Rick recommended and the food was delicious. We then made our way to the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge and walked back into Manhattan, a pleasant half hour walk. We had a great, informative and fun time with Rick and highly recommend this tour. Nancy, Allan and Emily. | ||||||

| I took the Brooklyn Walking Tour when staying there last week. The guide Rick was extremely knowledgeable about the area having lived there all his life so it was very interesting and enjoyable as it was more personalised. The pace was relaxed with plenty of stops to look at and talk about different aspects of the area. The various types of architecture of the buildings and houses was fascinating especially when attention was drawn to points you'd never have noticed yourself. This is a much to be recommended tour with a difference with a great guide with a great personality who really looks after his customers. Highly recommended. | ||||||

| A group of us went on Ric's Brooklyn Tour, A Tour Grows in Brooklyn, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Ric was knowledgeable and pleasant and full of information about what we were seeing. It was a treat to be introduced to this neighborhood by a 'home boy'! | ||||||

| As soon as we met our tour guide, Rick Kadlub, we knew that this tour was going to be fun. The enthusiasum and love that Rick displayed for his neighborhood of Brooklyn would have been great alone. Rick also shared a wealth of knowledge that we have not been lucy enough to experience on other tours of various regions of New York City. My group has an interest in architecture; an area that Rick masters. It should be noted that beyond Rick's love for his home, his Grandmother (we enjoyed the stories he shared with us) and people in general, he is also a gentleman. Mr. Kadlub will soon be conducting tours of Brooklyn's Green-Wood Cemetery. Our group was fortunate to get a preview of that tour with Rick. We will be booking this tour on our next visit. This tour is sure to satisfy those with interests in architecture and history. I have been coming to NY with groups of friends for the last few years. We always schedule at least two tours for our three day trips. Some of the tours have been AWFUL-never want to do that again and would not recommend it to anyone, OKAY-but not likely to do it again, someone else may enjoy it, GOOD-kept our interest and would recommend to others, GREAT-want to share this experience with everyone we know and would enjoy again. Of course "A Tour Grows In Brooklyn" is filed under GREAT. Thank you Mr. Kadlub! | ||||||
