Loved the Dark Side of Charleston tour!! Sad that it was only 90 minutes because I'm sure there are a ton of stories!! Our tour guide was great and an awesome story teller. Would definitely recommend. |

Hubby and I really enjoyed this adult tour. Our tour guide, Susan, told true stories not in mainstream history of Charleston. She was engaging, and truthful, but not vulgar in her storytelling. There were stories of brothels, prostitution, a prominent gangster, and other stories that the city is not proud of. I especially liked the story of the turkey buzzards called the "Charleston Eagles", and the funeral of one notorious Madame. The walking tour is at night, and is about 90 minutes, with many stops among various buildings, and points of interest. The walking is on level ground and relatively easy. This tour was one of the highlights of our visit. |

Very enjoyable tour. Guide provided all the scandalous details of Charleston they didn't teach you in History class. Definitely worthy of the "adults only" condition. Great for the "gossip hound" in your group! |

Susan, our guide, was great - articulate and friendly. I now know more about prostitution in early Charleston than anyone has a reason to, and I love it. |

This is my second time taking a tour with Bulldog Tours so let me just say that I recommend them, just not this particular tour. The first time I did the Ghosts & Graveyard tour; it was wonderful. This time I decided to go with the Dark Side of Charleston tour because I thought it would be interesting. There were some interesting facts. However, I don't really understand why this is a walking tour. While our tour guide was very funny & very knowledgeable, it seemed that we just walked to waste time. Only about twice did we actually walk to somewhere that related to the topic being discussed. And we did a lot more walking than he did talking. |

The tour guide was very well spoken and personable. He had a great knack for conveying the stories from Charleston's past and also made the stories entertaining. I will definitely look to Bulldog tours for another tour of Charleston the next time I'm in town. |

We would have preferred to hear a bit more about the Speakeasies, the Rum Runners, the Murders, etc... We heard about 45 minutes about prostitution, then 1 murder story, 1 rum runner story, and then the topic returned to prostitution for the remainder of the walk. The prostitution stories were interesting and our guide, Susan, was very knowledgable and entertaining, but if that was the crux of the tour, we would have liked to have known that in advance. |
