The tour itself and the tour guide were fine. It was just that our expectations were different. We got interesting stories and a history lesson on Charleston. But we were expecting access to places the general public does not have, along with "Ghost" stories on the "Darker side of Charleston". Ironically, there was not one mention of a Ghost ... |

First off, it appears that Zerve messed up. I bought (and was charged) on-line six adult tickets. When arriving at the Bulldog office, they were informed by Zerve (Bulldog's claim) that there were only two people on my reservation, not six. Since the city of Charleston has a limit on the number of folks on these walking tours, and there was now a total of 24 with our six), this was a big problem. Bulldog was very nice about it, they got four people to take a different tour and comp'ed them tickets for another tour on another day. Our tour started about 25 minutes late due to this problem.
About the tour itself. The guide was very knowlegable and humerous. But he talked rather softly and with a considerable southern accent which not all of us in our party was used to. Also many of his stops were where traffic was busy and/or loud which made hearing and understanding him even more difficult. |

It was a beautiful evening stroll through the streets of Charleston, listening to fun facts and twisted tales. |

We showed up with an open mind and figured that the rated R tag was a gimmick. We were wrong. The tour, while a little too focused on about 3 stories was entertaining, funny, and informative. The guide was knowledgeable and all the while emphasized a sense of humor. He was more than willing to answer questions and seemed to be an expert on most of what he was talking about. The description says 90 minutes of walking but is more accurately about 20 minutes of walking and 70 minutes of listening to the guide and uncovering details on the scene. My girlfriend and I found that the guides tone vividly brought you back in history to a world filled with crime and prostitution. I would recommend this to anyone without children who is looking for a good time and a few good laughs. The tour left me wanting to experience the other ones offered. |

We had a mixed tour group of all ages, and ethnicity, so I'm unsure if this affected the tour guide and the topics being discussed. He started out very awkwardly, and only became comfortable towards the end of the tour. The R rating for the tour information is purely marketing. There really wasn't anything risque about it. Mostly the "darkside" refers to the darkside of humanity. The treatment of slaves, soldiers, and the poor. It was very revealing and informational. My friend called it depressing. Not for light fair, or general entertainment, but a good history lesson. |

I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is fun-loving and free-spirited. This was the first tour we did out of four of them in two days, but this was the most fun and well-worth the money. We felt this was the highlight of our trip. We wanted something carefree and fun to do the night we got married, and this was wonderful! |

We had so much fun on this walk!! It was our first time in Charleston, even though we're only a short car ride from there. It was very interesting to hear the stories of the city - alot of which we didn't know. Thanks for a great time!! We'll definatley be back!! |

Our guide was was well spoken and knew his facts about the topics that he spoke about. He came with articles from various newspapers to support his stories. He was humorous and made the tour very enjoyable. We recommend the tour. Great fun! |
