Rating: 4 Chains That Move Make for A Good Night

The tour guide was great but I think the whole tour lacked. Not enought stories and to much walking. The provost dungan was great, seeing chains move really was the high-lite. I caught several things on video that were neat, like a mist that moved past the chains before they started moving. Overall the tour was good, I can't wait to take the Jail tour. We heard there were lots of kool stuff happening there.
Rating: 5 we were very pleased

my husband and I recently relocated here from NY, so we consider ourselves tourists that live here. We had heard that Bulldog Tours was the best and it truly was. We look forward to taking advantage of the other tours from Bulldog in the future.
Rating: 2 Not scary at all

Although I did enjoy the walk through Charleston and the tour of the dungeon the "Ghost" portion was lame at best. Our guide who claimed to have done this for a long time just couldn't tell a story. He would walk us to an alley and tell us stories about what happened here. They were not scary and not believable, and I believe in ghosts. I wish I had done the Graveyard tour, at least we could have read the headstones.
Rating: 5 Fun, entertaining and informative

My husband and myself went on the tour on Halloween night and it was so much fun. Our guide Larry was interesting and told wonderful and entertaining stories that everyone in our group enjoyed. We will be returning to Charleston soon to bring our teenaged sons and to take another of the tours Bulldog offers. We definately recommend this activity and don't forget the digital cameras!
Rating: 3 Alot of walking and talking!

For the price of this tour, it was a very long walk. I expected alot of walking, but also expected to see more. The gentlemen that was our tour guide, tended to go on and on with the same story. 20 minutes for one story that basically kept repeating itself was a bit too much. Seeing the historic dungeon was interesting, but all in all, I didn't care for this and the kids got very bored! This tour is way too long!
Rating: 2 Not what we expected....

The description states a tour of graveyards yet we were only bystanders looking in through the gates..... Our tour guide did a good job but sounded as if he were reading a speech for most of the tour. You could tell it was memorized. I'm sure it's hard not to sound that way after doing it 3000+ times, but it kind of took the anticipation out of it! They should space out all their tours more so they aren't overlapping so much. We were having to wait for a previous tour to finish so we could move on. It caused distraction. Keep in mind that there are a million distractions going on around that are not controllable so it kind of ruins the "mood". Not scary at all. We were not impressed. We paid $68 for 4 people and it was NOT worth it. Not even worth half the price.
Rating: 4 Fun, but one large problem

We had a blast on the tour, the guide, the stories, just being out in the fall air, it was great. My only complaint is, there was a young couple, around 20, I would think and they were all over each other. There was a small child in the group with her parents and these two young people were kissing and touching in a manner that would be uncomfortable for anyone must less a family with a small child to be around. The guide never asked them to stop or said one thing to them. Others on the tour did but not the guide. I felt it was his place to handle the situation. That was my only problem, besides that we had a lot of fun!
Rating: 5 This was tons of fun!

My friend and I decided to take this tour as a Halloween treat to ourselves. We went down into the dungeon, and were not disappointed. Although we did not see any "aparitions" we did see some moving chains, and felt some very eerie things. When we got home, my camera was filled with orbs from that place. The only thing I can say that was a disappointment to me, was that this tour was not longer with more stops, but hey, you gotta quit sometime, right!?

The tour that we took on Oct, 25 2007 was such a disappointment. The tour was boring, the guide seemed rushed to get it over with. The information or stories as it were lacked anything that would have made them the least little bit believeable or interesting. As if that wasn't enough .... at the end of the tour the guide just left us on a corner and kinda pointed us back to Market Street..... she then crossed the street and disappeared....if we had been from out of town this would have been a problem.
Rating: 4 Ghost and Dungeon: Good Story

My husband and I took the Ghost and Dungeon tour and were slightly disappointed. We were expecting to get spooked but it was more of an historical tour. I would recommend it as an historical tour but not a ghost tour. Our guide was a very good story teller but didn't tell us many ghost stories that were relevant to the spots we visited. The dungeon was really cool except also not spooky and we spent less than 10 minutes there. All in all, I would recommend Bulldog Tours for the main reason that the staff is friendly, knowledgable and well spoken, but I wish we had chosen their other ghost tour for a haunting experience. I guess it just depends on what you're looking for. But now we know.
