We were able to reschedule after Tropical Storm Ernesto came through. It was an enjoyable walk filled with nice historical information that adds a different level of appreciation for Charleston.

I can't complain - this was a very fun thing to do while in town and allowed us to see the city at night and hear stories. I was hoping it was going to be scarier though. And I also wondered how realistic some things were. For example, while in the dungeon, we were alerted to the fact that a chain was moving on its own. I did see it moving and it kept going for awhile but I'm still not convinced it was for real and not just a scam so that tourists would think they saw something. I would definitely recommend going though since it's not that expensive and is something cool to do at night.

This tour was basically a walking tour through the city at night, with one stop in the old city jail. The other stops were at street-corners or in parks. About 5 "ghost stories" were told, all but 1 of which could have been told anywhere (ie, the location at which we stopped had no bearing at all on the story). The first stop (at the jail) was more interesting than the rest, given that (a) we were in an interesting location, and (b) the stories were related to the location. As I said before, the rest of the tour could have been undertaken (pardon the pun!) at any location in town, at any time of day. To her credit, our guide (Barbara) did her best to deliver the stories through her somber, dead-pan delivery. There are so many graveyards in town, I'm surprised that none of these were visited. All in all, it definitely was not worth the $17 price.

We really enjoyed our tour and our guide. We'd rate this a 6 if we actually saw some ghostly activity. Inside tour of dungeon (not offered by other tours) was quite interesting.

This was a very interesting tour. After the tour our group noticed that upon our arrival to Charleston we walked the same areas as the tour. We did not know what the tour would be and found it strange that we had randomly walked the same streets earlier in the day as we were just wandering. The stories were interesting and took you back to a different time.
Rating: 4 Good night in Charleston

We had a good time on the ghost and dungeon tour. It is a great way to do a short walking tour of the city and get some historical information along the way. Our guide was from Charleston, and he had a great knowledge of the the history of Charleston. The dungeon wasn't as scarey as I thought it would be. If i were to do another tour, I'd still go with this company, but I believe I'd want to do the cemetery or jail tour instead of the dungeons.
