We thoroughly our evening strolling through Charleston. Our guide, Dave, was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. His vast knowledge of the area was evident in his recounting of ghostly encounters. This tour is tame enough for the 10 and over set, but still gave the adults a few goosebumps. Be sure and take a camera on the walk. We didn't notice anything odd during the tour, but orbs and a misty shadow showed up in several pictures. We had a fun time and a great evening walk through Charleston.

Fun thing to do in Charleston! Our tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable! We loved hearing all the different stories and history of Charleston. The dungeon was neat to see, but not necessarily scary. It's a long hot walk so dress accordingly!

This tour was entertaining and fun. Our tour guide was a great storyteller. She draws you in and, at least for me, could envision the time period and what was happening to these people. Plus, this tour also provides a bit of a history lesson and a peek into theirs lives. You get a good walking workout while traveling from one location to the other so wear your sneakers.

This tour was a good tour and the group had a very good tour guide who told us stories with enthusiasm and made the tour mysterious. It seemed as if the tour wasn't based around all that many ghostly experiences but on urban legends and the histories behind one time occurances. All that is interesting and all but the tour could benefit from more mysterious ghostly happenings like people getting scratched or things flying across the room. Obviously you can't make those things occur on demand but even just telling the groups about them having happened in the past adds a bit of apprehension to the tour. Overall my group had a wonderful time and we really enjoyed the rich history and architechure of the city. You've really got a good tour business.

I am from Charleston and had good friends with their children visiting from Kansas City, Missouri. We all found our tour guide to be entertaining, pleasant, and informative. It was a great walk through some areas I had not been through myself. The children in particular enjoyed the dungeon part of the tour. I would use this tour group again to entertain out of town guests.

We really enjoyed Barbara's stories and the history of Charleston was very good and entertaining. We enjoyed seeing the Provost's Dungeon. (We would have liked to have seen more sites and buildings on the tour.) Considering the focus of the tour, overall I'd rate it as very good!

Several years ago I visited Charleston for the first time. One of the main things that I like to do in every city that I visit is to take walking tours. I love history and ghost tours. I've taken them all over the world and can say that the tours offered by Bulldog Tours are among the best I've been on. The last time I was in Charleston I took the Ghosts and Gravestones tour and absolutely loved it. I was fortunate enough to have Tad Legare as my guide on that tour. I was pleasently surprised that when I returned to Charleston this time and had Tad as my guide for the Ghost and Dungeon tour. He is great. He is an interesting speaker and doesn't sensationalize the stories too much. This tour covers a few sites along the Cooper River waterfront before actually getting to the Dungeon. These sites were interesting but of course the focus of the tour is the Dungeon. That was very interesting. I don't want to give it away but the dungeon is reported to have some ghost activity actually happen during the tours. I was on an early tour so I wasn't really expecting anything to happen while we were down there. I was surprised when things did happen. One of the things that happend is that objects began to move. We spent some time actually talking about logical explinations for what was happening. I walked up and was standing next to a chain that was intended to keep people from heading into an area. I was the only one standing by the chain and it was about 3 feet away. I was looking into the corner and when I looked back the chain was moving. This chain is secured to the wall and I felt the wall to see if there were any vibrations - possibly from a vehicle or something on the street next to the dungeon. I felt no vibrations. As I was looking at the chain I noticed that it's movement was not a simple back and forth but it appeared to move as if someone was picking up a link about a third of the way along then letting go of it again. I actually reached out and felt around the chain. Perhaps it was rigged in some way with a fishing line but I couldn't find anything except a cold spot directly above the point where the chain was being lifted up. I stopped the chain's movement and then watched as it began again a minute later - this time a bit more forcefully. I don't know what it was. Was it a ghost - perhaps. I couldn't find a rational explination for it myself but it was facinating. I'll take more tours with Bulldog the next time I'm in town. Luckily I have a relative that just moved there so I'll be back much more often now.
