My husband and I enjoyed the ghost and dungeon tour. Rebel Sinclair, our tour guide, was very personable and entertaining. The ghostly stories were equally gruesome and eerie.
Thanks!

Fun but too much story telling

The tour was fun in that we got to spend 15 minutes in the dungeon and then listened to four ghost stories, told by the guide in front of each sight: city hall, a church, a restaurant, a parking lot. That is all the hour and a half tour included, and while it was fun, it was not worth the $18. Also, according to other tourists it seems that the city hall is more haunted than the dungeon, so you can save $18 and visit city hall, which is free; or buy an $18 ghost story book. |

Disappointment

The Ghost and Dungeon Tour we took was quite a disappointment. Our tour guide did an excessive amount of talking and only took us to four locations. We were only able to enter one of the four locations that we went to. The tour ended up at the Waterfront Park with the tour guide spending over a half hour telling tall tells and showing us bogus pictures. He basically left it up to us to either follow him back to where we started or leave from that site to venture out on our own. I didn't feel that we received our $54.00 worth. We were extremely disappointed. |

Interesting Tour, Captured a Picture of a Ghost

Very Interesting, typical ghost walk tour, it was great going inside the dungeon and not just walking past it listening to a story. The disappointment was that there is several places such as the jail that they don't take you to because it is a separate tour. But other than that, it was informative and I believe I did capture a picture of a pirate ghost. |

It is considered a ghost & dungeon tour, but 1/2 of us fell asleep by the end. I guess I wanted more ghosts and a spookier tour. I should have booked the adult (rated R) tour for our group. Also it is unfair not to reimburse for extra tickets. You made $36 on our group, due to changed travel plans. I hope you tipped the guide for us!
Thanks |

Very interesting at the dungeon but was under the impression we would be visiting other ghostly places in Charleston. |

I've lived in the Charleston area for 12 years and have been on numerous tours of the city, both walking and carriage, including other ghost tours. I had company from out-of-town for the Labor Day weekend and thought this would be a fun one. I had two main problems with the tour: 1) The tour itself included too few actual sights and WAY too much time spent waiting at each one. Other ghost tours I've been on took us off the beaten path and through the old, charming areas of downtown, stopping briefly to share tales about many different people, houses, cemeteries, alleys, etc. This tour took the first 40 minutes, mostly standing and waiting, to see two sights (the dungeon and a restaurant, both on the main thoroughfare East Bay Street). It reminded me of the queues at Disney World where you stand in one themed area then another so you don't realize how long you're standing and waiting in line (which I appreciate at Disney World, but not on a walking tour to see the sights of a city). The dungeon was definitely not worth the wait; go into any business on King Street to see a similar sight. 2) Charleston is so rich in folklore and history, it was very disappointing (especially considering how much time we stood at each stop) that the tour guide spoke adnauseam about only one person at each, concerned more with dramatic flare than with sharing stories. She seemed like a displaced actor reciting a dramatic monologue, not engaging with the group, and not wanting to be bothered or asked questions at all. I believe one of the most endearing parts of Charleston is our many enthusiastic tour guides who enjoy what they do and love sharing what they know about the city. Unfortunately, this was not one of them.
I wish I could say even one positive thing but I felt completely disappointed and ripped off by this tour. I will continue to share our charming city on other tours but definitely not with this company.

We were able to reschedule after Tropical Storm Ernesto came through. It was an enjoyable walk filled with nice historical information that adds a different level of appreciation for Charleston. |
