The Charleston Ghost and Dungeon Tour

I really enjoyed the ghost tour of the dungeon. This is my 2nd ghost tour, and every time we learn a new story about both friendly and unfriendly ghosts. I believe that spirits have energy and it is interesting to hear the spirits that are around Charleston. It is a must if you are visiting Charleston!

The dungeon and ghost stories were interesting, nothing to get excited about.

Our ghost tour did not start until 9:05 pm. The lady who was our guide is a history buff. Although she told us alot of information, I felt like we really walked more than seeing things. The tour would have only lasted 60 minutes if we had not done extra walking.

The locations visited during the tour were very cool (especially the Dungeon) but the stories that accompanied the sites and the time spent at the Dungeon was very sub par. The tour guide did not share any good ghost stories. The time spent in the Dungeon needs to be longer with more emphasis put on the EVERY part of it instead of leaving certain corridors and turns out of the tour. May I suggest adding an after midnight tour as well when there is less traffic on the streets and you can really get the complete experience of the haunted history in Charleston. I am sure people my age (upper 20s) would definitely attend.

This tour provided interesting information about the history of Charleston. However, the stories and legends about ghosts were not very believable. The historical carriage rides are a better choice.

Much of the tour focused on Charleston history instead of actual ghost stories. Don't go on this tour if you expect to hear about ghosts. Listening to our tour guide was like watching Jeff Foxworthy on a bad night.

This tour was a raging disappointment. We were prepared to be scared. The things that we learned could have been found in a book. Since it was friday the 13th, we were prepared for a much better scare. Instead we got an educational tour of the city. It could have been alot better. I would not recommend this tour to anyone. I could have been at the vendue inn on the roof top bar if I had known it was gonna be this bad. It was most definately a waste of money and time.

The tour was enjoyable, but just wasn't what I had expected. In a city that has so many ghost stories and haunted tales, we only heard three of them. The walking tour was nice, but we all really wanted to hear more ghost stories! The dungeon is not what we expected either. It is the basement of the market exchange and has little scenes set up from the musuem upstairs that provides tours of it during the day. If you are looking for ghost stories and an in depth look at Charleston's haunted side, do not do this tour. If you enjoy walking and looking at the city at night and are only looking for a few tales, then I would recommend it. I would not go on it again.

The tour of the dungeon was very cool, although I think it would have been better when it was dark. I will try the jail tour when I come back to Charleston.
