We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and found it most interesting. Was amazed at how much info we received in short amount of time. Hoon was our guide and he was great. His enthusiasm and love for his job is most enjoyable. Impressed by the training that your guides go through. Will definitely plan a longer visit to your beautiful city next time to follow up on some of the places we saw and heard about.

Ghost and Graveyard Tour: Fun and Informative
Tue, Aug 5, 08   9:30 PM chifords2000 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
the ghost and graveyard tour was fun and informative. I'm a native of Charleston who moved to the midwest 20 years ago and come back frequently with my husband and children to visit family. We always look for something different to do each time we come to Charleston, and this tour was definitely it! It reminded me of stories I'd heard years before (Poogans Porch) and introduced me to new ones. We were all very pleased and entertained, and the 9:30 - 11:00 pm tour was especially fun and a bit spooky

I am from Charleston, but I had my 3 grands with me from Charlotte, NC, we took a carriage ride last year, played on the cannons at the Battery and this year the Ghost Walk, which I highly recommend....My Grands are still chattering and remmember so much of what they learned about our Lovely city....and its Ghost...Our guide was just so knowledgeable of Charleston....Thanks you Bulldog!!!!

Fun evening. Stories authentic but not scary. After reading prior reviews, I was prepared for "less than scary" night. I would recommend as you get to see parts of the city. We went back to some of the graveyards the next day to look around.

Ghosts & Graveyard Tour

This was a wonderful tour. Our guide was knowledgable and had wonderful entertaining as well as historical stories to tell us. He was patient and answered questions of anyone who asked. I took photos and actually photographed orbs--which I've never done before. They're really strange. I would and have recommended this tour to anyone. Go and enjoy!

Fun way to spend a couple hours!

Having been on quite a few walking "ghost tours" up and down the States from NY to Florida the past couple years, if you have been on one before then you've been on this one. You hear about purported ghost sightings/tales and you enjoy a light walk. This is not to say it "isn't worth it" or "isn't any fun". Yes, you will be competing with various tour groups at certain stops, but, our experience was that every group stayed a respectable distance from one another so as not to interfere with each others stories. Afterall, it really is to be expected as this is a popular tourist destination this time of year and where you have those famous words you have the naturally competing "ghost walk" companies. ;-) It's just plain fun......whether you believe or not. You get a little history lesson along the way and you get to end your walk in an actual graveyard. My husband and I went back the next day in daylight to see some of headstones that had been pointed out by our guide, Jim. Our guide was pleasant and you could tell he was a real "people person" who liked to meet people from all over the country. When someone truly likes their jobs, I think it makes the experience that much more pleasant. If you are looking for something other than the typical "ghost walking" tour, I would suggest the "Haunted Jail" also offered by Bulldog. Both this tour and the "Haunted Jail" tour were sold out all the nights we arrived to do our activities at the tour office so since it was the peak season of the tourist, I bought our tickets two weeks before we arrived for our vacation. You just hand them your e-ticket and you are all set. Easy check-in!!!!!

Lack of Context

I was disappointed for many reasons, but mostly it was the context. Telling ghost stories... I guess ghost stories are not really scary if you are surrounded by 20-30 fellow tour members. There is just something about a cemetary losing its capacity to fright when you are surrounded by a group. A sort of group think I believe (one is safer in a group). Furthermore, the whole tour had a super organized feel. At all times, you are waiting for the group ahead of you to finish "getting spooked" at the particular ghostly site (e.g. cemetary), and likewise a third group is behind your group waiting for you to get spooked and move on so they can get into the cemetary or whatever and get spooked also. Best I could tell, there were no less than 10+ (probably 20) groups that were visting the same sites in a different order. Another context problem was the actual locations. Sure you go into a cemetary, but that's it. For the remainder of the tour, you will stand in front of houses (in the street) or churches and hear tales of someone dying. Not real scary. Just boring stuff like John Doe died and now several people say that they have seen him around the place. Maybe I am a dud, but I was expecting some form of thrill reminiscient of high school stories told in cars or at friends houses or camping; the late at night in the middle of nowhere type of stories. I was bored and felt ripped off. I would not recommend this tour or the other tour companies available (the companies follow similar routes through spookville). I would rent a scary movie: it would be cheaper and much more scary.

as the other tours offered by Bulldog. Not Scary at all, several other groups in the graveyard at the sametime.
