| I have done this tour with Bulldog Tours once before, but it was my husband's first time. Compared to the first tour, which was great, this one was quite a disappointment. The tour guide, Neil, was very knowledgeable but could have done things a bit differently to make it much more enjoyable. For example, every time he was finished speaking/telling, he just walked off leaving us in the group staring at each other wondering if he was done and whether or not to follow him as he walked away. Perhaps if he said something such as: "OK, now we are going to head over to the oldest church in the city and walk around the graveyard." Many in the group had cameras but he didn't offer info as to the best way to take pictures (leave flash on or off?), and to take consecutive pictures standing in one spot that would show orbs. Since we took the tour on a full moon, that would have been the ideal time to emphasize the haunted aspect of the tour as opposed to informing us of history facts.
When the tour was completed, he sat down on a ledge and didn't tell us where we were or how to get back to where we started. He did offer to answer any questions about restaurants, though. Since none of us knew where we were, we had to ask HIM where in the heck we were and how in the heck did we get back. |

| The city is so old and there ha to be more ghost stories and tragic happenings then the ones told by our guide. The guide was talking about stories in Edisto Island. Why? |

| Both my daughter and I had a great time wondering with our guide into some pretty creepy graveyards. Our guide was a retired teacher and was well versed in Charleston lore. |

| Even though our leader was very sweet and knowledgable this tour was boring and a total waste of time and money. There was only one mention of a ghost and the entire rest of the tour was on the history of a church and how headstones were made. Not at all what is advertised. |

| I took the Ghost and Graveyard tour on a Monday (08/31/09) night at 9:30. Our tour guide was very good. He was a guy probably in his mid-late 20s, but I can't remember his name. Not only did he tell good ghost stories, but he knew a lot about the history of Charleston. The main part of the tour was spent in the graveyard. You walk to different places in the graveyard and around town. Once you get to the spot, the guide will tell you a ghost story. He was good with answering all questions. He also told some random facts about Charleston during the walk. He was interested to hear what activities my mom and I were doing while visiting and offered a little insight. I think its better to take the 9:30 tour than the 7:30 tour b/c its completly dark and adds some creepiness to the tour..haha. Some ppl complained of bugs, but I wore pants and was fine. Bring your camera and take some pictures. You never know what you may catch!
Overall it's a good tour and I recommend others to take it. I would also take other tours by this company if the opportunity arose. |
