I am very pleased with Bulldog Tours. This company is very professional and friendly. (This is more than I can say for the company we used last year) Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable about the locations, and the history of Charleston. At the end of the tour, I was pleasantly shocked at how willing he was to answer any questions, and give directions back to our car or to other locations. He even recommended a restaurant for us to try! The last company we used just said "goodnight...hope you like it" and left the group standing on a street corner. With this tour, we were actually allowed to spend a good bit of time inside one cemetery. It was amazing to see the beautiful markers. The guide seemed to have fun pointing out numerous graves and sharing the history of the people who occupied them. It was very interesting to learn why the terms "saved by the bell" and "graveyard shift" were coined. The group we used last year simply walked us into the Unitarian Graveyard, we looked at one grave...then we left.
Keep up the good work Bulldog Tours! |

I loved this tour, and my friend from out of town enjoyed it as well. We found the guide to be very friendly and informative. He made the tour fun and we learned a lot of neat history as well as some great ghost stories! |

We did his tour later in the evening which is best for the overall affect. Our guide was a wealth of information about hauntings, local churches and graveyards, ghosts, and lore of Charleston. We never really saw a ghost, but the way it is presented gives one the feeling that you might see one at any time. This made it fun in a creepy sort of way. The way we think something like this should be. After all, it is a haunted graveyard and ghost tour! You just never know when the spirits will show up, but anticipation can be just as fun! And this is the only tour group that I know of that is actually allowed to take you into the graveyard. |

The historical information and stories provided in the tour were great. But our guide took such a long time telling each one that I got bored. One example was about 10 minutes spent on a story about Annabelle Lee (and Edgar Allen Poe). That story could have been told in under a minute to the same effect. Our tour guide was very nice, but his presentation was a little too over the top for me in terms of the "hushed, I'mma gonna whisper this and ooo, do you hear something? there are spirits all around us now and you know they're watchin' and listenin'" vibe. There may be people that like that. Some people on our tour in fact did seem to be eating it up, so maybe I'm more a skeptical, "tell me the facts/trivia and let's keep moving" type of person. My overall recommendation would be to include more content and less hullaballoo. |

Neil was our guide and he was great. He knew lots of ghost stories and made it very interesting. The only problem is that now I want to do more research on Charleston historym. I would highly recommend it. |

We had a big group and all ordered our tickets seperately on-line so some of us were not able to be in the same group for the tour. It would have been useful if we would have known this before hand so we could have all purchased our tickets together and been in the same tour group. |

I have done this tour with Bulldog Tours once before, but it was my husband's first time. Compared to the first tour, which was great, this one was quite a disappointment. The tour guide, Neil, was very knowledgeable but could have done things a bit differently to make it much more enjoyable. For example, every time he was finished speaking/telling, he just walked off leaving us in the group staring at each other wondering if he was done and whether or not to follow him as he walked away. Perhaps if he said something such as: "OK, now we are going to head over to the oldest church in the city and walk around the graveyard." Many in the group had cameras but he didn't offer info as to the best way to take pictures (leave flash on or off?), and to take consecutive pictures standing in one spot that would show orbs. Since we took the tour on a full moon, that would have been the ideal time to emphasize the haunted aspect of the tour as opposed to informing us of history facts.
When the tour was completed, he sat down on a ledge and didn't tell us where we were or how to get back to where we started. He did offer to answer any questions about restaurants, though. Since none of us knew where we were, we had to ask HIM where in the heck we were and how in the heck did we get back. |

The city is so old and there ha to be more ghost stories and tragic happenings then the ones told by our guide. The guide was talking about stories in Edisto Island. Why? |
