wasnt as scary as we wanted and the tour guide would have been better off on the horse and buggy tour, she was too chipper and happy for a ghost tour. it was a little boring. we didnt hear stories that really "WOW'D" us |

One member of our group found the tour informative. The other 2 thought it didn't meet their expectations. Describing a crypt occurrence in another graveyard doesn't seem to qualify for an event on that particular tour. Ending the tour in a parking lot doesn't seem all that professional. A visit to a single graveyard seemed meagre. It would be helpful if there were bathroom facilities somewhere along the way. Having the tour leader adopt a persona might have been fun. |

The guides stories were very entertaining and interesting. If you like a good ghost story told in the dark in an exciting setting this is the tour to go on. |

Keep in mind that this was my first ghost tour in Charleston so I was a little lost in what to expect. From the advertisement I thought that we would be hearing about ghosts that inhabited graveyards that we would be going into. The ghost story that we heard about was at St. Phillips, but we weren't allowed to go in. The graveyard we actually entered and walked around in had no legendary ghost associated with it. The tour guide was pretty enthusiastic, but was having a hard time talking cause he was sick and that made it a little hard to hear. Also when he told the story of Lavinia Fisher, the female serial killer from Charleston, his version of her hanging was historically inaccurate. He stated that she made a comment to the crowd and then "jumped off" thereby hanging herself. However, based on information we heard earlier at a tour of the Old Charleston Jail, it's not possible that she could have done that. They used to hang people on a pulley and weight system so that the condemned was standing flat on the ground and was jerked up by the noose. There would have been nothing for Mrs. Fisher to jump off of. Having made such a mistake in that it made the rest of the stories he told lose credibility. The trip to Poogan's Porch was good though. All in all, I wouldn't say it was a bad tour. I would warn others not to expect to be scared out of your wits because that's NOT going to happen. There were some interesting stories though and colorful history that you don't hear about other places. |

Well loved the tour and Cathy was very fun with her very detailed stories. It would have been nice to go in the graveyards. We only went into one out of the three. The length of time was good, however towards the end many complained of sore backs.
Charleston is beautiful. We're glad we made the trip from PA. |

The tour was fun. Definately worth the price of the ticket. I wouldn't call it scary or spooky......obviously some ghost tales, but nothing that would scare anyone. If you are interested in local history, which I imagine most people are who are visiting Charleston, you will enjoy it. We did two tours, this one and The Darkside of Charleston. Our tour guiede Susan D. for that tour had a better delivery of her stories.....much more fluid...........like she was retelling a tale she knew very well. The guide for this tour was good, but her stories seemed like she had to learn them and her delivery was a bit stilted. No complaints, but having done both tours, we enjoyed the Darkside better. |

Prior to my trip to Charleston, I had done a lot of research into the different walking tours there. This particular Bulldog Ghost and Graveyard tour had some reviews that said the cons were few stories told and lack of creepiness. As for the former concern, I did not feel that I heard too few stories. Realistically, one can only have a certain number of stories on an hour and a half tour, so I thought it was appropriate to have about 4-6 stories. Plus I felt that the stories were very detailed and were told with enthusiasm by the tour guide. As for the latter concern, I have gone on many ghost tours in my days, and none ever are really creepy... how can traveling in a big group of people in a pretty well-lit city ever be creepy? I didn't do it for that factor, so I was not disappointed. I learned a lot about history and culture in Charleston, as well as the local legends. Overall, my boyfriend and I had a great time and would recommend it to anyone. |

The tour was different from what I had expected in that it was not scary at all. The stories were interesting and well-told. I thought it was a much better way to spend an evening in Charleston than getting wasted at a local bar. |
