We've been to several ghost tours in Savannah and Charleston. This one actually made me uneasy! The guide was personable. At one point I wandered to another room from the tour and felt that, "I'd rather be back with the group", feeling. The guide mentioned paranormal investigators had their camera suddenly move and become disabled, in a particular corner of a room on the second floor, a few months ago. Well, I was taking lots of pictures with my new camera, with new batteries. My camera stopped/broke, lens permanently irretractible, trying to take a picture in that same corner of the room (very coincidental). Anyway, my teenagers and I enjoyed this tour. |

This was an enjoyable tour. The jail was very spooky and the historical narration really added to the sense of horror. I don't think some aspects might be appropriate for children but it was a great date tour. Some parts drug out a bit and I sensed they were filling time to a certain extent (even though it's only a 45-50 min. tour) but the highlights definitely made up for those slower parts. You'll definitely want to bring a camera for a couple of parts and if it's winter dress warmly. I also recommend comfortable shoes. |

I enjoyed the jail tour and all of the historic information we learned. I recommend the following:
1. Do not send walking tourists down dark alleyways and streets to get to the jail. Maybe you should allow the group (w/ guide) to meet at Bulldog tours and walk together. If that means paying more for the tour, it is worth it...When we arrived closer to the jail, there was some noisy loitering going on across the street.
2. If you still send walkers to the jail, try sending them on King St. for most of the way...then they don't have as many dark streets to walk down. |

We had a great time on this tour...our tour guide did a wonderful job. Its not cheesy...no people jumping out, etc. There is a lot of historical information given and background information on the jail and the ghosts that call it home. I recommend going on the 10 o'clock tour...the later it is, the creepier it is. Keep an open mind on this tour...you never know what you will see or what will show up in your photoes when you get home! |

The tour was interesting. The guide did an excellent job. We were prepared to be scared , but the spirits did not want to visit that night. It seemed more like a historical
tour than a ghost tour. This was my first ghost tour, so I don't have anything to com-
pare it with. However , we do plan to visit some more tours. |

I just wished it was a little longer and we got to see more of the jail. Maybe the downstairs part a little more. |

We were very excited to take this excursion to the Old Jail but left feeling disappointed. The guide was very nice and great at story telling BUT due to the fact the Old Jail is now a school for design we were very limited on what we could see and where we could go.We only went into a few cells that had all the insides removed so each room was just a big empty space.
It would be a fun place to go with a medium or paranormal expert but would suggest another tour tour if you are looking to be scared!
Although I would not highly recommend this specific tour the BullDog Tour Company was very nice and I would recommend using them. |

This tour (though we didn't really experience any 'spirit activity' while there) is by far the creepiest tour we've taken in Charleston. The history, the feeling inside there, the spooky factor--definitely worth it. Plus you get to spend a good amount of time in there. We plan to take this tour again next tmie we go to Charleston. |

The tour was quite fun, but was not as spooky as we had hoped. Because the jail is now home to an art school, we were not able to see every part of it, and it wasn't as creepy knowing that the place is actually inhabited by living people. The tour was quite enjoyable for its history, however. I was able to take some great pictures, and we had a great time feeling a little spooked out. A piece of advice: don't walk down to the jail as a small group, or a group of women. The jail is across the street from the projects, and my two female friends and I were a little frightened because we arrived early, and were outside standing alone. Don't expect to see any creepy jail remains, only the building is intact, but the tour is still highly recommended for its ambience and history. |
