My wife and I started our Charleston vacation on Halloween and thought this would be something fun and easy to do on our first night. The tour was great and the guide was also great. What could have been much, much better was the removal of clutter. The building is going through some renovations and there were piles of building materials everywhere - literally everywhere. That was very dissapointing. Once the renovations are over, the tour can be fantastic. Check the status of the renovations prior to purchasing your tickets!! |

We had a great guide who was good at story telling. We wished there was more history given on how that jail ran, for expample what it was like for someone from the mintue they walked in as a prisoner.
We were the first tour (7pm) next time we are going on the 11:00 tour! Spirits have time to really get moving! |

I am very pleased with Bulldog Tours. This company is very professional and friendly. This is more than I can say for the company we used last year. We were made to feel very welcomed by the lady who checked us in at the jail. She was a very pleasant, friendly and willing to answer any questions about the area. The lady leading the tour was very knowledgeable about the location and the history of Charleston. At the end of the tour, I was absolutely shocked at how willing she was to stay and answer any questions, take pictures of the quests, to review pictures to see if someone may have "captured a ghost', and give directions back to our car. The last company we used just said "goodnight...hope you like it" and left the group standing on a street corner. I only wish there were more rooms inside the jail open to the public. This tour is a must for anyone who loves history. |

I really enjoyed my tour of the jail. It was very historical and I enjoyed the knowledge I obtained while having fun. I really think that this tour is for all ages and that our tour guide was extremely professional and informative. Thank you for a great time! |

We have been on other ghost walks and this was so far our favorite. Our guide was full of energy and really enjoyed what she was doing and that made the walk even more fun. If you don't FEEL something you are being way to serious. |

While this wasn't a complete trainwreck, I just can't recommend it to someone else. Having to hike to the location of the jail after paying $36 seems like they are asking a lot. The tour only takes you to a couple different rooms within the jail and it's mostly dark, I think because they are hiding all of the projects the school is working on. This place can't be too spooky if they have students working in it all day. The tour guide (Karen?) was pretty entertaining but it definitely felt like she was repeating her lines for the 100th time that day. There was really nothing even spooky about the entire tour. |

We had a very relazed quide, who stressed both the history and the importance of preservation. Also great stories to share and our party loved the tshirt with the saying on the back. They took a photo of it. |

I have been to Charleston many times and love the city; however, if this were my first v isit, I would probably not return. We had a weekend for golf, the jail tour, and some dining. Two out of three were good, but the jail t our was a pathetic excuse for a haunted house. The historical information was minimal and the aparatus that supposedly held prisoners was clearly purchased recently from Home Depot. I wasted $90 that I could have used for another carriage tour (that was informative and relevent to the city's past). I travel often to a variety of places, but this tour was the first truly ridiculous encounter I've experienced. Other tourists in my hotel were turned off by the city b/c of this tour. I hope no one only experiences the jail tour - it is not representative of a wonderful city with other worthwhile things to do and see. |

I have lived in Charleston all of my life, and this is the first time I have taken one of the haunted tours. I really thought that it would be an interesting, fun, and existing time for my fiance, my mother, and my 11 year old son. I was extremely disappointed. I can think of a lot better was to spent $64 in forty five minutes. |
