The Charleston Haunted Jail Tour

Our guide was very versed on a tremendous amount of history of Charleston. The ghost stories were astonishing and quite believable. The walk thru the cemetary was really amazing as one of the guest actually saw a large white ghost bent over one of the graves as we approached the cemetary.

I paid for eleven (11) people to tour the old jail cell. I was as well as many in my group very disappointed in the price paid per person for the amount of visual experience - it was only a few rooms and they were under excavation taking away from any "haunted" feeling...the tour guide was wonderful and provoking...we just felt that it was way too expensive per person for this tour and would not recommend it to friends if the price wasn't cut by a third or more. I paid $168 plus a $15 tip ...and really felt my money would have been spent better on some other site seeing tour.

We had a great time, but I would recommend to attend the later tour. We went to the 7pm tour, so there was still some daylight out. The darkness would of made it a lot scarier. Other than that, the tour and tour guide was great.

Our tour guide, Suzanne, was terrific. The tour was a lot of fun. The building itself has a creepy feel, and an interesting history.

Our tour guide Suzanne was great! She was very knowledgeable of the history of the jail and the city. She kept your attention the entire time and I loved her sense of humor. Although we didn't see any ghost this time around it was still quite interesting.

Our leader was great, she did a great job telling historical stories and had a great sense of humor. Our big disappointment was that it was not scary...at all. Since it was built up as such a scary adventure, we were expecting some sort of fright factor. None came. it should not be advertised as something it clearly is not. it is a historical tour, nothing more. Not worth nearly $20. It was interesting, and if it was advertised as a historical tour, we might not have been so disaappointed.

We had been on the tour a couple of years ago and it was very thrilling. It was dark and mysterious so we wanted to do it again. This time however, it seemed to be a shorter tour and half the rooms had lights on. There were college students there working. I know Bull Dog Tours has no control over that, but it was a big disappointment for me this time. It took all the thrill out. I would not want to do this tour again until it gets back to the way it was before. All our other tours with Bull Dog Tours were great as usual. I love hearing the stories and learning the history. The more stories, the better!

I was hoping for something that scared me and that did not happen. I was disappointed when we only went to 3 or 4 rooms in the jail and the rooms we went to were just walls and floors. It was supposed to be the scariest tour and there was nothing even remotely scary about it. There was also a 12 or 13 year old girl that totally ruined the experience before it ever started. I think that it could have been longer. I was also not happy with the price being the same as the other tours even though its 45 minutes sorter than all the others. I guess I will just have to try the other tours to see if they are any better.
