The Charleston Haunted Jail Tour

This tour was very interesting and informative. If you love history, you definately need to go on this tour.

I brought my 14 year old neice Have orbs and blue lady face on my cell phone camera When in actuality my cell phone quit working when Suzanne started talking and said some would Really bizarre stuff Even though the phone quit the camcorder went on and recorded orbs, etc.

I thought the jail was interesting and the tour guide, Suzanne, did a great job. We went with a mixed aged group with the youngest of 16 and the oldest 79 years of age. It wasn't that easy for an elderly person but we enjoyed it overall.

The night-time jail tour was great. We arrived at dusk, the jail was creepy to begin with and bats were flying out of it. The tour guide, Eric, is very knowledgeable. I don't know about it really being haunted, but hey, whatever, it was entertainment. The only drawback is that the old jail is located right next to a low income housing project (the hood). It seemed safe though because Charleston has a constant police presence. I would recommend this tour for it's entertainment value.

we were very disappointed. we had to walk 7 blocks to get to the jail. the tour consisted of entering through the back of the building, going though that level and then going downstairs and exiting through a door there. there were four levels in the building and all we got to see was two. there were old boxes and things like that laying about. the tour guild contradicted herself several times making what she said doubtful. we would not recommend this tour to anyone.

This tour is well worth the time and money. The guide was fabulous and led us through this very scary building. She had everyone's attention captured throughout the tour. We all were very scared!!! I'd love to return to re-live the experience. I'll definitely take another of your tours next time I'm in Charleston. Fabulous!!!

We really had alot of fun. Fantastic looking from the outside and inside. Would love to explore the worker building and the wardens office. Maybe in the furture you could add these tours.

My family was here from Illinois and was looking forward to the tour of the haunted jail. In the pamplet it gives a short discription on the stories to be told. The tour guide should really get into and express the stories to be told. She did not mention any of the stories in the pamplet and I found the tour to be quite boring along with my family who where very disappointed and stated that they are charging way to much for what little they got to see through the tour. The owner has rooms as his personal storage and that limits the areas to explore and see. I found this to be very unprofessional and there should be more propts from the days in which the jail was in use. I would not recommend this tour to friends at this time.

Although the ghost tour was not scary, it was very interesting. Suzanne did a great job.

We really enjoyed the city jail tour - very interesting and well led. Very good at setting up each story for the group. Had a great time! Would definitely recommend it to others. Would have liked there not to be a tour on the half hour so we weren't in their way - might have had a better effect to be "alone." Though understand there is a high tourist demand for the tours at this time of year.
