My wife and I love the Haunted Jail tour. We come to charleston for our anniversary weekend and have done this tour 3 times. It is different and great every time. However, this year was a little different and the ambiance was slightly off due to the loud machines being ran by the students during our tour. Other than the rudeness of the late night workers, it is a great tour, and will do it again. |

The tour was a well blended mix of 'scary tales' and Charleston history. Would definitely recommend the tour for those who like scary stories as well as another side of Charleston's great history. |

Although this tour had the potential to be great, the tour guide was unenthusiastic and boring. She also made many asides to topics that had nothing to do with the tour. Her main concern was complaining about the use of power tools! |

Our tour guide Suszann was a great ! She knew alot about the history of the jail and
kept us on our toes every chance she had. You should be there when she closes the door on the cells and the lights go out and you wonder who or what are in there with you.Great Fun for everybody but ask for Suszann she the best . Thanks for a fun
enjoyable night. |

I think overall it was okay, being right in the middle of a housing project kinda took away from the scaryness of it. Outside noises and street lights. The guide was excellent and I also feel if we could have explored more than 4-5 rooms it would have been more interesting. The place is under renovation and I think taking out the old floor and putting in plywood kinda killed the mood also. I enjoyed it overall but it wasn't as scary as I would have thought it to be. If it were in a secluded dark area with nothing else around now that might change things, I will go on another ghost tour in the downtown area for sure. If you are afraid of the dark this is not the place for you to visit. Happy Haunting... |

We enjoyed this tour. It was not as good as a ghost tour, but it was interesting. It would have been better if we could have had more information about the criminals who were there. |

Really and realistically shiver-inducing |

I had a great time on this tour. Not like a haunted house at all, no gimmicks, all true stories, authentic history and real ghosts!!!!! |
 |
Well worth the time and dollars - take this tour! |

Our guide was excellent and knew a considerable amount of History not only the jail but Charleston in general. Very patient and took the time answer all questions. Very likable and friendly.
The jail its self was incredible - very spooky place with a horrible history. |

Me and my boyfriend went on this tour and didnt know quite what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. We had a great tour guide and this jailhouse is very very creepy but interesting at the same time. I would recommend it for any visitors with some extra time on their hands. |

I enjoyed the tour but I have to say that the noise from the Clemson students working downstairs really took away from the whole experience. They had saws running and it was noisy and easily heard from inside the jail. I don't think they should be working during the tours. |
