The tour was excellent. Our tour guide was great. She knew the history of the area and provided many examples of the type of foods that were utilized throughout the south and the Charleston area. The restaurants and food outlets we visited were quite nice and very accommodating. No one in our group was hungry for lunch! Definitely recommend it for anyone visiting the area. |

A spice shop franchise from St. Augustine, FL and a shop specializing in Virginia peanuts?! We had grits, wandered around the historic and market area going "[pointing] FILL IN THE BLANK is a nice restaurant," and finished with collards and fried green tomatoes. How do you call that a culinary tour? See that beautiful shrimp on the website - never saw it on the tour! The oyster stew in the recipe brochure - nope! Crab - no. Gumbo - uh uh. A pilou - nada. Pick out a few historic area restaurants from TripAdvisor, go to the bar, and split a different starter at each one. Buy a history book. You'll get a much, much better taste of Charleston and might spend less $. |

When we arrived, we were given a bag with a phamplet of a tour of the restaurants in Charleston where you visited restaturants and met chefs, and sampled food. That is what I thought I had signed up for! What a disappointment! It was interesting, but not at all what we thought we were getting, found out that tour is only available on Fridays. Website was misleading. I has purchased tickets for a group of 4 and we all were disappointed in the tour. |

The tour satisfied both our appetites and intellect. It was a wonderful way to learn about Charleston, it's agricultural and culinary history, as well as to taste authetntic cuisine. We loved David as our tour guide as he was able to be informative and entertaining. I would strongly recommend this tour! |

We had a fantastic guide who provided entertaining and informational commentary throughout our tour. I will say some stops were certainly better than others - we preferred stops at restaurants and shops that included food samples. A few of the stops seemed more like marketing ploys for the shops themselves - I wouldn't have minded, as they were good shopping recommendations, but since we had paid for the tour, it would have been nice if every shop had offered a special incentive for tour-goers. If not a special food sample, perhaps a coupon to the store. |
