We enjoyed our tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and we definitely saw things we would not have seen without her. If you are looking for actual food, this may not be the tour for you. You'll get a sliver of spice cake, a spoonful of grits, a piece of pecan praline, a tiny square of fudge, bites of brittle and nougat, and red beans with rice and collards. Still, it's a delightful 2 1/2 hour walk that only covers a few blocks so it's an easy stroll. In the meantime, you'll learn a lot about Charleston's culinary history. We saw the outside of some wonderful restaurants and read a lot of expensive menus. We explored a cobblestone lane and learned the difference between a SOB and a NOB, with a SNOB thrown in for good measure. You'll love the Market and having a nice cold beer (at your cost) at the end. |

Great lesson in SC foods, what makes them so good, how many are made and just one heck of a great way to explore Charleston. I never write reviews but am compelled to do with this tour and this company. You will not regret taking this tour. |

From the previous reviews, I was concerned. But I thoroughly enjoyed the tour...except for the owner of one of the shops. She seemed to be all about herself...I'll leave it up to you to figure out which stop it was! :)
My only suggestion is not to eat before the tour. The website recommended it but I was not able to eat alot of the food...and I'm not a pansy eater!
Our tour guide was wonderful...a real genteel southern belle. |

Our guide was great and my adult kids that live in Charleston even learned a few things. However it would have
been better if there were more restuarants involved for better variety and forgone the shops. |

I have enjoyed this culinary tour on two different occasions, with two different tour guides, and both times I felt it was one of the best Charleston tours offered. Each time the guides were knowledgable and their delivery of information was enjoyable. The places of interest were diverse and provided a fantastic overview of Charleston and its cuisine over the years. Wonderful, and worth the repeat performance! |
