Enjoy the "Old South" as you meander through alleys passing hidden gardens in the historic district.
Hear about old Charlestowne from 1670 through the Civil War to the present and enjoy historic highlights and famous landmarks, including: - Rainbow Row – a vibrant stretch of mid-1700s homes and one of Charleston's most unique landmarks.
- The Battery – opened originally as a public park in 1837, it served as a fort during the Civil War. Today, you’ll see children happily climbing 150-year-old cannons, among the live oaks drooping with Spanish moss against the Charleston Harbor.
- Antebellum Mansions – located at the southern most tip of the Charleston peninsula, you will see some of the area’s most lavish residences, like the Palmer Home (also known as the Pink Palace).
- The Old Exchange Building – an architectural gem designed to house 18th-century assemblies, a prison during the Revolution, and the balcony where the Declaration of Independance was read aloud.
Tour where carriages and motorcoaches are not allowed and take a fascinating stroll with stories and traditions revealing Charleston's rich history and colorful past.
