Bulldog Tours

The tour didn't have very many scary stories and didn't go into the history as much as I would have liked. I didn't know the jail had been turned into a school, so it was kind of strange seeing things pertaining to the school throughout.

The prison has been converted into a college, so the tour is pretty much going into classrooms with the lights turned off. There wasn't much historical data provided and it wasn't scary at all. We all wished we had chosen something else.

Really enjoyed walking and learning the history of the area and houses.

Houn Calhoun was TERRIFIC! My daughter and I have lived here 20 yrs, my mom has been visiting with us for same time period. We've done other tours of various and sundry things, Houn was the most informative person I've yet experienced. So personable, likeable, and the extra story-telling was wonderful. The 3 of us enjoyed this tour very much. All of the chefs made you feel very welcome, and the food samples provided were very generous. I will highly recommend this tour to locals and anyone I encounter looking for something different to do in downtown Charleston.

Creepy tour and a great guide. The tour was a little too short, though, only 45 minutes. Also, people took too many flash photos which took you out of the setting and hurt your eyes since the place was enclosed and very dark--wish there was a notice or something by the guide to be mindful of others and to take only 1 picture max with the flash per room or something to balance people's desire to take photos while being considerate to others.

I wish we were given more time inside the jail.

The tour guide was very nice and seemed knowledgable, however it was just a simple tour. Nothing special. Disappointed.

The Haunted Jail Tour was a great experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the jail, providing many interesting facts and stories. We did not witness any ghosts, but it was a great experience.

We totally enjoyed the tour guide and the information. It was a fun tour. However, since the tour is outside with lots of outside noises it might be better if the guide had a microphone of some type. We were continually straining to hear and unfortunately missed some of the talk. Our group consisted of about 20 people, we were at the back most of the time.

Too much time in shops, especailly the spice shop. Group was large for the guide to be heard by all.

This was a little out of the box for a first date. It was a little cold and rainy out, but had a great time. Tour guide was loud and animate. Fun story teller and was really into ghosts. I would recommend it.

Nice little trip around some of the restaurants and food related stores. Depends on the time of the tour and tour guide but gives a little overview of center of Charleston and food. Could have been $10 less expensive, but otherwise I would recommend for the 2-3 hour tour.

I was very excited about doing this tour. I have never been on one and I wanted to capture something on camera. It was neat being in an old jail with a lot of history within the walls. My girlfreind and I had a good time. I captured a bunch of orbs in different photos. The guide was really good and made it a fun time. I want to go back and do it again.

This was our first trip to Charleston, and we had a great time learning about its history on the Ghost & Graveyard tour. The guide did a wonderful job weaving the tales of hauntings in with the local history. We had eaten at Poogan's Porch earlier in the day, only to be standing back in front of the restaurant later that evening hearing about its hauntings. We would definitely recommend this tour!
