Loved the Haunted Jail Tour!!
Sat, Dec 5, 09   8:00 PM kyarborough Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
This was part of a Charleston trip for my daughter's 16th birthday with my sister and her teenaged girls and my best friend and her 2 teenaged girls. My daughter chose and booked this tour! We had the BEST guide, Susan, who told numerous historical stories and facts about the old jail. She scared us silly by slamming the door in the "room for the worst criminals". We truly felt it was money well spent and we learned a lot too! Got some pics of "orbs". Thanks for being part of a terrific Sweet Sixteen celebration!

The Haunted Jail Tour was everything you want a haunted tour to be. I recommend this tour to anyone looking for a good scare. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. My entire group thoroughly enjoyed this experience, and I will definitely be taking my husband on this tour the next time we visit Charleston.

Haunted Jail Tour
Thu, Dec 3, 09   8:00 PM mjmartin76 Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We went on the jail tour on a cold night, and it was a pretty creepy experience. Our guide Glen did a great job of telling stories, but not overdoing it. We learned some Charleston history, and also about the restoration of the jail and other old buildings in Charleston. Everyone on the tour had a fun time.

The guide was very good and entertaining. We would consider one of your other tours when we are in Charleston again.

Entertaining but not scary

Our guide Grayson was friendly, entertaining, and informative. Would like to have spent more time inside the dungeons and thought the adventure was going to be scary. It was entertaining and a good way to spend our evening.

This tour was very exciting, you get to walk through downtown charleston listing to ghost stories and you get to learn very much about Charleston and its rich history of graveyards, churches and ghosts. I would recommend this tour to anyone, small childern would love this tour as well.

This was a nice walk around Charleston with some scary tales thrown in. Our tour guide, Susan, was a lot of fun and did a great job telling stories. The dungeon was very cool. If you like creepy stuff, I'd highly recommend this.

Fun in the graveyard

We really enjoyed the walking tour through Charleston. The group was full (20 people) but moved well in the city. The history lesson was as interesting as the ghostly details. I would recommend this tour to a friend.

Excellent classy and intelligent tourguide

I would describe myself as a person with high standards and a short attention span, and I must say that I was very impressed by our tour guide and would love to have her again. She wore a beautiful hat and long elegant skirt, and obviously knew a tremendous amount about Charleston's history and was a skilled and entertaining communicator. I would recommend this company to intellectuals, and people who want a truly high-quality and beautiful experience. I also strongly recommend this over a carriage ride, since our walking route went down streets too narrow for carriages, and contributed to the overall charm of the experience.

Tour guide

All of us agreed that Ben, our guide, was trying to sound like Captain Kirk from Star Trek. Very odd. And maybe some lights in the jail would help?? I know it is suppose to be scarey but with no lights at nite, the stairs were very hard to see.

History of Jail and Guide Were Great!
Tue, Nov 24, 09   8:00 PM deborahzacha Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
We enjoyed the tour and Guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. We all walked away saying that it was not as scary as advertised. There were children around 10 years of age and it scared them but I think the darkness spooked them more than anything. We went on the Darkside of Charleston tour last year and it was worth the money. I think we were expecting more from the jail tour and were disappointed. Sorry!

Nice, but low on impact

I had attended the dungeon tour before, which had 3-5 really good stories, mentioning specific events, people, and places. The dungeon part of the tour was interesting enough, but low on history (i.e. omitted some of the stories I heard before). I forgot to mention that due to the low turnout we were put into a combined into the combination dungeon/graveyard tour. We only saw one graveyard, which I thought was weak. It didn't have any stories either. All in all, Tad was a good story teller, but the stories themselves were lacking. They need more names, places, and specific events, and less, "in an alley like this..."-type stories. Don't combine the tours anymore if at all possible, it detracts from both.

Disapointed
Fri, Nov 20, 09   10:00 PM bauduinms Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
I don't recall the gentleman's name that led us on the tour, but he had a strange style. Although he was very nice and knew the stories well, it appeared that his total dialogue was rehearsed. Most disapointing was that he left so much out of the tour. We did not go up to the 3rd floor to look at some of the cells, or saw the gallows. Additionally, he totally overlooked the prisoner wagon outside. Many of us would have liked more sight seeing and less story telling.

Glenn is an excellent guide!
Fri, Nov 13, 09   9:00 PM JaimeStone Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We enjoyed Glenn's enthusiasm & knowledge for the history of the Charleston area. The only complaint I have is about the clerk in the ticket office who didn't have time to show us where the haunted jail actually was, even tho we were the only people in there at the time, and the other clerk was on the phone! She did give us a map, which we figured out on our own! =very interesting!

Enjoyed the history of Charleston from a different view. The tour was very informative. Had a little difficulty understanding the tour guide.
