Bulldog Tours

My children and I really enjoyed this walking tour and we learned some new things that we didn't know. The stories that were told to us by Hoon were great and enjoyable to listen to. I enjoyed this tour. I learned a lot about the history of Charleston. The tour guide was great! We had no paranormal experiences but I loved the tour.

The tour was very interesting and amusing. The kids loved it and were not scared. Not an expensive tour and worth the little bit of money! Fun!

I thought the tour was great. The tour guide, Glen, was great. My only complaint is that he seemed very rehearsed and theatrical. This took a little bit away from the experience. If he had been more candid/natural, it would have been more scary. Also, some people showed up early for their tour, so they joined ours. This made the group a little too big. A little smaller group would have been nicer and easier to walk around and see things in each room.

Our guide, David the science teacher, was a great ghost story teller. Really enjoyed walking through the Circular Congregtional Church grave yard. But I have one question, when he told the story about Sally going to the back of the grave yard to touch/kiss the leaning tombstone under the "big oak", which graveyard was she in? The first one that's locked or the one we walked through? Also, I'd like to request a copy of the lady in a red dress photo that David mentioned. While he was telling the story, every hair on my neck stood up. I've told all my friends about these tours that you offer and recommend them hightly! FABULOUS fun in the old holy city!

My friends and I had a good time. They had never been on a ghost tour before and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've been on a few in other cities and would have liked a few more stories, but still, the tour guide obviously believed what he was saying, which made it scary and fun. Our guide was the science teacher, Dave. My friends really liked him, and we'd like to see the photo of the lady in red!

Overall the tour was very good. The guide seemed knowledgeable. I say seemed because, if the guide points out a house and mentions some fact about it, I have no idea if it is correct. Now, I have no reason to think that the guide was anything but truthful. The length of the tour was good, not too long or short. The amount of walking was reasonable. Over twenty persons signed up for the tour, breaking them into two groups and limiting a group to about ten is a good idea.

The Jail has been turned into a school. Seeing bulletin boards and art supplies around greatly diminished the effect. We only saw two rooms. Our story teller did a good job but there was little connection between the stories and the jail. The walking tours of downtown are better.

I have always been fascinated with the paranormal. On a weekend getaway, me and my significant other thought it would be cool to go on a haunted tour while in Charleston. He thought I would be terrified. To say the least, he screamed more than I did. I would recommend this tour to anyone going to Charleston and who is brave enough to tour the haunted jail.

Our tour guide Karen Marr was very nice and enthusiastic. Enjoyable tour and we even snapped some good pictures.

We had a nice time on the tour. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable, but a little difficult to hear at times.

Our guide, Fran, was a well-informed long-time local resident. The tour was just the right length (2 hours) and it gave us a great introduction to historic Charleston.

Glen was a great guide and kept us interested. Sadly, his enthusiasm made the time go by so fast that it was over before we knew it. Thanks. Bill

We heard a total of four stories. None of them were particularly creepy. She was extremely dramatic and it ruined the effect of the stories. She said in the beginning that the emphasis was more on stories instead of ghosts, however, that is not how the tour was advertised. I have been on ghost tours before and I felt that Bulldog's tour was silly in comparison. We did not get what we paid for.

Hoon Calhoun was educational and fun! Highly recommend the tour!
