Bulldog Tours

This is a great tour. The tour is informative, telling you about how the food culture developed along with the infusion of all the groups of people who came or were brought to the charleston region. The tour guide also gives quite a bit of info on the development of slavery to cultivate rice. The tour takes about 2.5 hours and is a leisurely walking tour. I recommend taking this tour when you first come to charleston and it will give you plenty of ideas on where to eat for the rest of your stay! Well worth your time. Pretty lame, billed as a Ghost Tour but really was a history lesson of how prisoners lived while incarcerated at the jail. Would not go back or recommend.

This was my third ghost walk. Some are better than others, it mostly depends on luck of the draw as far as the guide goes. They are fun and interesting and not scary. Give it a try.

It gives a little history and intrigue. Entire group enjoyed and will probably do again. It is much easier to do without children in strollers.

good tour and the content was great. the tour guide was knowledgable and played her role with excellence. I'd recommend the tour to any couple.

We really enjoyed Barbara's stories and the history of Charleston was very good and entertaining. We enjoyed seeing the Provost's Dungeon. (We would have liked to have seen more sites and buildings on the tour.) Considering the focus of the tour, overall I'd rate it as very good!

Janice was energized and was very informative....was a great tour and she is the real deal.....would recommend this tour to others for sure....Janice i hope you capture that photo some day in the graveyard....Thanks for the memories!! PA fans

Lane our guide was great...very knowledgable on the history.... he made the tour!! Enjoyed the tour very much and would recommend to others to use Bulldog walking tours...Lane's passion for the history of the city was real and added to the tour....

Perhaps it was our guide - who, though enthusiastic, provided more information for us about how to hunt spirits on our own and his personal experiences with the paranormal or with working with paranormalists than information about haunted Charleston. It seemed that our stops along the way to the dungeon were to pass time as opposed to acquaint us with stories about that particular location. Yet, from the sound of it - there might have been a dozen locations along the way to the dungeon with plenty of ghost stories. We just didn't get to hear those stories. This tour was the biggest disappointment of our trip.

The tour was pretty boring and not scary. With the exception of visiting the dungeon which was interesting everything else was very mundane. Would not recommend. Take a carriage tour instead

If you want to see a ghost, then join TAPS! If you would like to see a piece of history with some unfortunate tales, then come visit the Old City Jail. I enjoyed learning about the history of Charleston's Jail and the people who stayed there. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. This is perfect for people who want a visual picture the horrible past accompanied by this jail.
