Bulldog Tours

There was a lot of history and facts included which I enjoyed. He encouraged us to interact and ask questions too. I liked our tour guide a lot. He was really energetic! Unfortunately, I forgot his name or I would give him credit!

This was an interesting tour and our guide was really good at creating suspense without being too hokey. The jail and that period of time being scary enough so no need to throw in fake theatrics. It's a great way for teenagers to learn a bit of history and have fun at the same time. We did the tour after dark and it enhanced the experience. The tour through the architectural lab was very interesting as well. Nice to know about the preservation effort.

The tour was a lot of fun and my group and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something cool to do in Charleston. The tour guide was very nice, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The stories were spooky and entertaining. Even if you never see a ghost on the tour you will not be disappointed, though you might want to check your camera afterwards.

Enjoyed. Next time want to do the jail tour.

Great tour - lots of history

All in all a very pleasant 2 hours. I would have personally preferred to get to the waterfront a little bit more but that's me. 2 hours is not too long and keeps it interesting

None of the foods were new to me except the Sweet Potato Cornbread. It would have been nice if more histories of the various foods were presented. Rice is big in Charleston, but little if any info about rice was mentioned. I'll admit, I was disappointed but probably more of a disappointment for us because we are southern and knew all the foods ahead of time. The guide was nice, but I wouldn't do it again had I known how long it would take vs. how little of a "new" experience I would be getting for the money. I thought it strange that we were given ample "shopping" time in the gadget store, but encouraged not to shop in the spice store. I am sure people from other places than the south would feel differently. I wish we had done a different tour. I was happy with the ease of reservating tour, and the people that worked in the office, and how nice the tour guide was. The content was not what I hoped it would be. We took one of Bulldog's night tours (the one about prostitution and organized crime) and it was great! We also loved our carriage tour.

GREAT jOB

Since much of the jail was inaccessible due to restoration in progress by a local craftman's tech school, I feel that we did not see many parts of the jail. There appeared to be so much more of the building that what we actually got to see. Calling it a tour is somewhat of a misnomer. I also feel that the moderator's presentation was uninteresting, his voice being mono-toned and without emotion, though the story-line was intriguing. It felt like he was going through the motions, which took away from the premise of being a "haunted tour". I Would not recommend on hot nights for anyone with health issues since the jail gets extremely hot inside by night's end. I would also recommend that "Bull Dog" tours include a carriage ride to the jail from their check in site...this would make the tour worth it even with a boring moderator.

The tour guide was really entertaining and had some great stories to tell. I thought we would spend more time in the graveyard and there was another tour group in the graveyard with us. That was a little destracting. That night I think there were 4 tour groups for this particular Ghost and Graveyard Tour so there was probably no way around it. I would take this tour again. However, next time I visit Charleston I would like to take the Haunted Jail or the Dungeon Tour. I would definately recommend waiting for the cooler months before going on this tour. It was alot of walking and HOT !!!! From 1 to 10 I would rate this tour a firm 7.

I like the history. Our guide was great. I felt like it was the best Haunted Tour of Charleston..

The tourguide was nice but the "party of 10" with whom we had to join was very annoying. So me and my friend haven't been enjoying the tour at all. Its rude to go buy cigarettes while the tour was ongoing, play with the chains at the dungeon all the time, go make photos with a ferrari while the tour was ongoing, etc. The behaviour of those 10 people pretty much killed the atmosphere of the tour completely. I regret it that I made this tour.

Anyone visiting or newly relocated to the Charleston area should be reqired by law to take this enlightening and informative tour. The hostess has got to have the most enviable "job" in the city. I was so amazed at the history and the generosity of the participating establishments that I am planning my next vacation around the city and can't wait to spend my entire time there. My next visit shall include a tour of the Chef's kitchens as well. I would love to see the "dinner only" establishments offer a peek so as to help visitors broaden their dining options for the evening. I can't wait to visit your beautiful and exciting city as soon as possible!

This was an interesting and enjoyable tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. It was well worth the money. The only complaint was of the construction going on took away from the "haunted" feeling. Once that is completed this will be an excellent tour.
