Rather boring. Was hoping for more.

I was rather disappointed with the price we paid. They should have more rooms to tour. Tour guide was rather boring. Could of talked more about the life inside the prison; more info on sightings that have been said to have happened while being in prison.

Family Friendly Tour, Not Scary At All
Sat, May 25  7:00 PM sswick Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
My children and I felt that this was more of a history lesson than a ghost tour. Although, there were ghost stories told. We were not scared at all. If anything, the children were bored. There was a lot of walking in Charleston, and it was nice to see the different areas. The stories were mildly entertaining.

You can do this tour yourself
Sat, May 25  2:00 PM michael_pate Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
This is basically a shopping tour. You do get to sample some food and will learn a few bits of information. But many of the stops are not worth the time. For instance we stopped at Jim and Nicks BBQ. They do have good BBQ but this is a chain restaurant. They are located in several cities and serve good food. However, you do not need a tour to visit. We also stopped at a candy store. Well guess what, this same candy store is located several places throughout Charleston and is also in Savannah. We tasted some candy. But there was nothing unique about it. You could have just walked in and tasted the same candy. If you need some one to walk around with you in Charleston you can do this tour. If you can shop by yourself, Just save the money.

Two hour tour, gave a good mix of historical and cultural information that we found interesting. We had with us our one year daughter in a stroller and walking around with her was not a problem.

This tour was a great way to see and learn about Charleston - while sampling the food and learning about how it came to the area. The food was delicious and the area was beautiful. Our tour guide Nancy was great! We learned a lot and greatly enjoyed our morning. Great start to our day.

Wonderful beginning

The graveyard tour was the first major item on our five day vacation. What a way to begin a vacation. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, humorous, and enjoyable to be with. We met great folks taking the tour with us. I would highly recommend to anyone who isn't certain, it is worth your time and money to go on the tours. We top the night off with adult beverages with new friends. OVERALL WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE TO START A OUTSTANDING VACATION.

Hubby and I attended this haunted Jail Tour .Susan was our guide and she was very informative and new her stuff.Although it is taken over with a school now you can't get into all rooms so that would've improved the tour and if they had original stuff in jail .But history and environment was still overall great and most scary in end .It did help having a good Tour leader .

Fabulous - Don't Miss this!!!

Wow - When we first booked this we really weren't expecting much. But this was so good it ended up being the highlight of our trip (and we had a great trip on Kiawah Island for the week). The talent was incredible from the young pianist to the two female gospel/blues singers. Plus.... the emcee provided chronological tidbits on the Charleston area throughout the program. So there was an educational component as well. Knocked our Socks off!!!

Needs more Personal History
Thu, May 23  10:00 AM DianneInPa Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
While the tour was interesting in some respects, I felt that much of the information was the type of stuff you could get out of a history book. I expected more personal history such as stories about prominent families who lived in the houses and on the streets we saw - something to make the city come alive.

This was my first ghost tour ever and I was definitely not disappointed! The guide was very personable and made the stories come alive! Such an interesting part of history! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone in the Charleston area! Make sure you go at night and are wearing comfortable clothing because it is HOT HOT in the jail!

Great tour, kind of creepy!

We were very happy with Bulldog Tours in general. On a visit to Charleston, my sister and I initially signed up for the Haunted Pub Crawl. We had a great time, and wanted to try something scarier, so a few nights later we tried the Haunted Jail Tour. We have gone on a number of haunted tours in various cities, but this was the first one where we spent the whole time in one building. We did the 8pm tour, so it was just dark enough to be creepy. Our guide told us some of the terrible stories about the atrocities that happened in the jail, and the ghost stories that developed because of those events. At one point during the tour, I heard a weird shifting noise behind one wall. I tried not to make a big deal of it, but later realized several other people heard it too, so I know it wasn't just my imagination! Who knows what was really behind that wall?!

Fun but wish there were more stories
Sat, May 18  9:00 PM jackiekeller Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Was a fun tour in general but wish there were more sights to see and more stories in the amount of time we had (this is in comparison to other ghost tours we have been on in other cities). Otherwise you learn some cool history about Charleston which we liked and the last stop at the cemetery was spooky.

We loved this tour, the city is so rich in history. I could have gone all night walking around listening to stories and absorbing the history of this wonderful city. Our guide was great, she had a great sense of humor! It was a great way to spend my birthday!

Walking is the best way to see historic Charleston
Fri, May 17  2:00 PM taylordl Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Very knowledgeable guide with a good ability to make history come alive. Good walking pace and flexible "script" to appeal to a varied audience. Suggestion: Bring water during hot weather - our tour was at 2 pm and it was 90 degrees and humid.
