| She provided the mystery that was needed for this tour. I don't think the jail itself was that spectacular, but she did a great job of trying to make it more scary. I didn't see any ghosts, or feel any cold breezes or anything like that. The best part of the whole tour was the history of the place. That in itself is enough to make you shudder. When you think of the horrors that must have gone on in that place. The diseases, the hangings, the whippings, the heat and cold since there were no windows in the place; That is enough to make it interesting. I would rather take the graveyard tour next time. I don't think the jailhouse tour was worth doing twice, but it was interesting enough to be worthwhile. | ||||||

| First off, our tour guide was great. She was fun and enthusiastic. However, 'The Dungeon' was a HUGE letdown. It is a small 30 x 30 foot brick room with fake dummies and rats all over the place. This is the 'money shot' and it fails to deliver. However, 'the filler' spots en route were more interesting than the dungeon as our guide gave us great stories. Though obviously embellished, they were interesting as they provided a small sliver of old Charleston culture. I keep hearing the Jail Tour is the one to take, but that one was all sold out. I cannot recommend this tour for someone looking for ghosts or a scare, but someone looking to pass 90 minutes on a rather easy walking tour, it may be worth your while. | ||||||

| Ruth Miller took us on a tour of historic Charleston for almost 2 hours. It was wonderful and the time flew. She had stories and history at her fingertips. | ||||||

| Will book with this group again. Since it was Halloween month, I had hoped to be spooked a bit more. Went conservative on the tour since my hubby is a bit skiddish. Will go for the jail tour next time. Heard it's quite frightful. | ||||||

| We found the tour to be boring. The dungeon was unrealisitic with the wax figures. Mostly just walking and standing listening to the guide telling stories that weren't very ghostly. | ||||||

| IT WAS AN EXCELLENT TOUR OF THE OLD JAIL , BUT WAS UNAWARE THAT THEIR WEREN'T ANY BENCHES OR SEATIUNG FOR SOME OF THE TALES AND TALKS WERE LENGHTY. BEING IN ONE SPOT WHILE OTHER GROUPS WERE ALSO IN THE BUILDING CREATED LENGHTHY PERIODS IN ONE SPOT. OTHERWISE THE STORIES AND TALES TOLD ABOUT THE JAIL WERE VERY GOOD. | ||||||

| The tour guide rambled on and on without a destination in site. Her stories didn't make a lot of sense and simply weren't interesting, and certainly not scary. My 12 year old grandson LOVES scary things, thus the tours, but he thought she was boring and refused to go on the graveyard tour. | ||||||

| I really enjoyed the walk. When I first booked this I kind of wondered how much we would see on a walking tour, my answer to that question is A LOT! So much detail, so many interesting stories. This was a fantastic tour. Thank you! | ||||||

| While this is still an interesting tour, Enjoyed it better the first time two years ago. This time we had a very large group and spent a lot of time waiting for the group to move between the few rooms we visited. There was too much time spent in a single room discussing prison life. Last time we visited the upstairs and found some interesting rooms that weren;t viewed nor discussed this time. Camera picked up some orbs same as last time. Origin? Who knows. Tour guide was ok. The stomping of the foot attempting to scare the group was a little hokie. Previous tour was a smaller group with unrulely children. This time had a couple of well behaved boys who appear to enjoy the tour. Overall, still better than graveyard tours. | ||||||

| Our tour guide, Lane, spoke so very softly that many in this group had problems hearing him. He attempted to tell "stories", but got sidetracked often. We expected more information and more to see than just be standing in an alley. Quite pricey for this | ||||||

| The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very good in her presentation. She was also very attentive to questions and one on one conversation. This tour was very good and we are going to take the other tours thanks to our tour guide and her professionalism. | ||||||

| The tour was fun in that we got to spend 15 minutes in the dungeon and then listened to four ghost stories, told by the guide in front of each sight: city hall, a church, a restaurant, a parking lot. That is all the hour and a half tour included, and while it was fun, it was not worth the $18. Also, according to other tourists it seems that the city hall is more haunted than the dungeon, so you can save $18 and visit city hall, which is free; or buy an $18 ghost story book. | ||||||
