Our group of 11 ranged from age 9 to 44. We all found the tour interesting and entertaining.

Excellent tour! Neal was a terrific guide.

We took the Ghost and Graveyard Tour the night before and liked it fine. But the second night (Ghost and Dungeon Tour) was perfect. Neal was a compelling storyteller and kept the tour moving at a brisk pace. The 90 minute tour took 2 hours and seemed more like 30 minutes. Highly recommended.

More Historic than Scary
Tue, Jul 1, 08   9:00 PM danaimoore Female Under 20 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We, as a group, honestly feel that this tour was more historic than it was scary. Our tour guide was not very enthusicatic about the tour either. Every other word that came out of his mouth was "uhhh...ummm...ect." The most intresting place was the dungeon. During the daytime the dungeon is a museum so it is fixed up with dummies and it looked pretty renovated(that was there only down fall). It seemed the only orginal piece was the sea wall which was located at the entrance of the dungeon. I would only recommend this tour to someone who doesn't want to be sared out of their mind and someone who is intrested in the history of the dungeon. It Wasn't a Bad Tour... Just NOT SCARY!!!

Great Tour / Guide Was Difficult To Hear
Tue, Jul 1, 08   7:30 PM ScottHudson Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Lovedall aspects of the tour. Obviously a lot of work and research went into it. The only concern was that the guide spoke softly and was difficult to hear. What we could hear was excellent, however. We went back the following night for the Ghosts and Dungeons tour. Highly recommended. Great job by Bulldog Tours. Easy to purchase online and VERY easy to check in.

Although the ghost tour was not scary, it was very interesting. Suzanne did a great job.

Worthwhile - Fun

We really enjoyed the city jail tour - very interesting and well led. Very good at setting up each story for the group. Had a great time! Would definitely recommend it to others. Would have liked there not to be a tour on the half hour so we weren't in their way - might have had a better effect to be "alone." Though understand there is a high tourist demand for the tours at this time of year.

Both informational and enjoyable
Mon, Jun 30, 08   10:00 AM Moniquerec Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Our family, husband and wife in 40's with two teens, does not get very excited about learning about history but wanted to know about Charleston and it's past. We realized we needed a tour, but were not that excited about it. What a wonderful surprise! This two-hour tour is exceptional - our guide, Butler, kept us all interested the entire time. We walked a good bit, and she took us inside several types of buildings, including the historic City Hall, and a church. All four of us absolutely loved the tour, and we were able to spend the afternoon going back to visit more thoroughly the places that interested us. I highly recommend this tour early in your Charleston visit.

Enjoyable trip

I didn't spy any ghosts on the trip, but enjoyed the stories as we walked the route. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Our pictures did contain orbs, which some would take as present spirits. The guide made a point to talk to individuals in the group, especially the children. Thanks for a nice trip around Charleston.

Historical, not ghost tour
Sun, Jun 29, 08   9:00 PM Moniquerec Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
While our guide was very knowledgeable about the jail and its history, we had been more interested in participating in a "ghost tour". The information we received was interesting, but not what we had planned or hoped for. We wanted something more fun and scary/exciting for children, but it was more a history lecture.

Great Tour

This is not a ghost tour. It is a history tour, but it was really great. I enjoyed every minute and only wished it could have lasted longer. Definitely a must if you're visiting Charleston and if you like the darker side of history!

My 12 year old son LOVED it!

It had just enough story...to keep me interested and the orb photo's that my son took kept him talking about the tour to everyone for days! In fact...we are considering the graveyard tour next. Thank you for a most enjoyable and memorable tour!

Terrible tour
Sat, Jun 28, 08   8:00 PM temuhl Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
The tour leader, Lane, mumbled, was monotone, no enthusiasm, and his stories "drifted off". I actually thought he was stoned on something - long pauses, staring into space, etc. At one point we were in a cemetery where there were 2 other tours going on, & I could tell by the little bit I heard from those tour leaders that they were much better.

Excellent Tour

If you only have time to participate in one tour - do this! It was great. Tour guide gave excellent information and told us many interesting points about the buildings and their history. Got to walk through alleys and sneak a peak into the back yards and get a real sense of life in Charleston. Wear walking shoes and bring water.
