| I, my wife, and 14 yr old son vacationed in the Charleston area and took in many of the sites and activities. The haunted jail was near the top of our list of fun things we did on our trip. The jail was quite creepy and our tour guide, "Susan", was excellent. We took pictures, and several in our group captured glowing orbs and unusual phenomenon in their photographs. My son captured one on his cell phone camera. It was well worth the money. My only criticism is that there is no parking near the jail so we had to walk about 5 or 6 blocks to get there. The map given by Bulldog was confusing and wasnt much help. We had to ask for directions from passer byes on the street, but fortunately everyone in Charleston was friendly and helpful. It would have been nice if everyone attending the tour met at Bulldog, and walked over as a group or if Bulldog had provided transportation to and from the jail. Even so, the actual tour was outstanding. I would recommend it to everyone visiting Charleston. | ||||||

Guide was not comfortable

| We had a mixed tour group of all ages, and ethnicity, so I'm unsure if this affected the tour guide and the topics being discussed. He started out very awkwardly, and only became comfortable towards the end of the tour. The R rating for the tour information is purely marketing. There really wasn't anything risque about it. Mostly the "darkside" refers to the darkside of humanity. The treatment of slaves, soldiers, and the poor. It was very revealing and informational. My friend called it depressing. Not for light fair, or general entertainment, but a good history lesson. | ||||||

| A good introduction to the uniqueness that is Charleston. I had done some reading, so some of the information was redundant, but I still learned new information. A good start to a newcomer to Charleston. | ||||||

| the tour was nice, our guide was knowledgable. We had been on a bull dog tour earlier in the year and had loved it, so we wanted to go on an other. Our tour guide was nice but didnt layout all of the facts. i did have to ask questions to try and get the whole story but you should enjoy this tour...if not you'll have taken some tiime off the night and walked your diner off... | ||||||

Graveyard walk was Fun...

| I enjoyed the graveyard walk. We also took the Dungeon Tour the previous day. There was a lot of duplication in the two tours. I was hoping that with all the history in Charleston that the tours would be quite different. | ||||||

| I really enjoyed this tour. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She told us a lot of history and facts about the jail. The reviews I read said that it is really scary. I wasn't frightened at all, but it take a lot to scare me. I do think, however, that many of the other people on the trip got a bit freaked out. Apparently, some of the tours end up seeing, hearing or smelling something out of the ordinary. Definitely bring your camera! Also, they ask you to check in 45 minutes early so that you can walk to the site. It actually takes almost that long to walk there, so make sure you are on time. If you are driving, however, the jail is only about 5 minutes from the Bulldog office and there is free parking (unlike everywhere else in Charleston!) | ||||||

| We just took the Bulldog Ghost and Graveyard tour on our March trip to Charleston and had a wonderful time. The stories were very interesting and entertaining and the 90 minutes went by extremely fast. We learned a lot and got spooked at the same time. Our guide was a wonderful story teller and was able to add personal experiences that he had had to the tour. The only word of warning, this is not the tour if you want to be "haunted house" scared. There was a group of college kids with us who were obviously expecting this tour to include things jumping out at them and scaring them to death. That is not the case. If that is what you are looking for I would try their other tours (Jail or Dungeon). Our tour guide was very haunted Charleston but refuses to do the Jail tour-too creapy he said. | ||||||

Paranormal As It Should Be

| "Rebel" Sinclair, our Tour Guide, was simply OUTSTANDING!!!!! Our biggest fear was that this would be a focus upon things which go "bump in the night". Glad we were wrong... for those stories and images are for little kids at a summer night camp fire. Part intellectual and research-based, this was a fun and very enjoyable stroll into the realm of the unexplained. | ||||||

| It was interesting that of all the people in the group that believed in ghosts my daughter and I were the only ones. Tour guide less than enthusiastic. Spoke too fast. Did get some great shots with orbs in them. | ||||||

| I purchased my tickets for the wrong date, but the staff was very willing to help me switch tickets or refund them if I wanted. I didn't go on the dungeon tour, but my tour was awesome. The guide was an excellent storyteller. | ||||||

| The tour was GREAT! Suzanne was our guide and she was excellent. She was very knowledgible about the jail and her presentation was absolutely perfect. I would and have recommend this tour to everyone. I will do it again the next time I am in Charleston. I wish, however, that they would offer a day tour in order to better see the facilities. | ||||||

| Hearing about the history of Blackbeard and Bonnett was interesting, but did not do much to enhance the atmosphere of a "ghost" tour. We felt the storytelling was a bit uneven, and inconsistent. We ducked out of the tour early rather than endure another pause and another story. | ||||||
