Bulldog Tours

The tour guide/historian was knowledgable in the area and the history behind the stories. I would reccomend this tour for folks who enjoy the "darker side" of SC history.

Our tour guide was very knowledgable and kept everyone in our group engaged. We enjoyed ourselves very much. This is the 2nd time I have been on a Bulldog tour (previously - Old Charleston Jail) and both experiences have been good. I would highly recommend using this tour company. I have taken tours from other companies but Bulldog tours by far is #1.

We went on a carriage ride in Charleston and the tour guide recomended that we take this tour. We came back for another visit and decided to take the tour. It was very good our guide was well informed. The only thing that we thought was negative about it was that the collage that holds classes there, was having an art show on the third floor. They had the stairs lit for the safety of the people attending the show and the music they were playing was very loud. I would reccomend that if they are going to allow the students to have a program going they should not allow tours during that time.

I enjoyed seeing so many historical buildings. Our guide was also very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions.

walked in the back door into 2 rooms lit with red lights (why red to make it scary?) that are ungoing restoration and then down to a ground level hallway. The bldg is used for college classrooms and while it has a storied past it has no more resemblance to a jail than our apt does. The claims to be haunted while providing some interest were over rated. Walking thru the housing projects outside the jail is scarier than the tour was.

We enjoyed our tour through the jail. Our tour guide provided us with lots of interesting detail about the history. It was great that we were in the building hearing the stories instead of out on the street corner.

Good storytelling, but not scary at all

I've been on other ghost walks and this one is as good or better than the rest. The information was entertaining, the guide was knowledgeable and a good storyteller. All in all a great evening.

We enjoyed our tour and really liked our tour guide. She was very informative and had some great stories. I would highly recommend this tour.

I would recommend this for just about anyone. The children on the tour were tired and distracted toward the end of our tour, but our guide, Mary, rekindled interest. She watched each member of our group to be sure she held their interest, she encouraged questions and injected a lot of humor. It was great!

I thought the tour itself was very good - we learned a little bit about Charleston history and legends and heard some ghost stories. Gaining entrance to a graveyard and walking around in the graveyard was fun as well. The only thing I wish is that there would have been more ghost stories...I would say only about half of the stories we heard actually told us where to look for ghosts. Regardless, it was a great way to walk around the city some more and all the stories were well told.

The tour was very intertaining. And just about right for the length.

I was really impressed with our guide, Susan. Great personality and very knowledgeable. I wish I could have seen more of the jail, but understand why we couldn't (restoration in progress).
