| Barbara was very sweet and upbeat and tried very hard to make us frightened- and it seems she succeeded with some! Very informative, I would certainly recommend it. She had some great stories to tell and gives one a different view of Charleston history. | ||||||

| We had a very nice walking tour. Jennifer was a load of information and funny anecdotes. We so enjoyed seeing the little out of the way places and learning of the history of Charleston. I would not recommend for smaller children, and even teenagers would be bored unless they really like history. I would even do it again just for the nice walk and company. | ||||||

| We been to verious cities that have "Ghost" Tours available. We decided to try one in Charleston. We enjoyed it very much. Even if you don't believe in ghosts the tour provided information you wouldn't likely hear otherwise. | ||||||

| We enjoyed this a lot! Both my wife and I, as well as our 14 yr old had a great time. Our guide, Neal, was very knowledgable of the area and the local legends. If we would have been there longer than just 2 days we would have definately booked one of the other walks as well. A+! | ||||||

Tour was good but...

| I think that a disclaimer that pictures can be taken in the Dungeon should be mention several times at the beginning of the tour. Many in our group were despondent when later the guide mentioned to us about taking pictures at the end of the tour. Second, our guide (cannot remember her name) needs to lay off the following phrase: "With that in mind". It was so over used that by the end of the tour she had used it over hundred times. How do I know this? It became so droning that I began counting due to the huge distraction it was to everything she said. This is not some subtle critique for this guide, she really needs to cut it out or just stop giving tours. When the most memorable part of the tour is this phrase, it does not sell well for word of mouth recommendations or content of the history the tour provides. | ||||||

| This was a culturally rich tour given by a true connoisseur of Charleston. Georgia, our guide, made it not just interesting but fun by sharing little anecdotes and stories with the group. We never felt rushed of slowed down either. This is altogether a great tour for those on limited visiting time but still wanting to get a fairly comprehensive overlook of this charming city. | ||||||

| Our guide's name was Ruth and she was fantastic. Great personality and her love of the city and knowledge of Charleston and southern history was fantastic. Highly recommend tour and if you can arrange for Ruth to be your tour guide you will be greatly rewarded. | ||||||

| Although we really enjoyed hearing the stories and history of the jail, we wished we could have toured the entire jail. We also wished the tour was longer than 45 minutes. The group size allowed was perfect. | ||||||

| First, I read other reviews of the Darkside Tour and people were saying they had trouble understanding the guide. We did not experience that trouble. Our tour guide, Braxton, provided us with a fun filled surprising tour. Both of us really enjoyed the interesting facts about Charleston and the individuals that have lived there along with visiting. I would definitely recommend this tour if you want something different and have a good time. | ||||||

| We enjoyed learning the formal history of the jail as well as the "spritiual" history. Ashley was our tour guide, if I remember correctly, and she was very entertaining and informative. My only disappointment was with the access to the building. It definitely would be more fun if the building were completely available to the tour, and didn't have all of the school's equipment in it. But as the building is being used for two purposed, that cannot be avoided. I would like to share that while in one of the upstairs rooms I felt like something touched my right ear and the up whole side of my head and down my neck heated up. At the time I also thought I heard a whisper of some sort also. We went on the tour on Sunday evening and my ear was still very red, swollen, and itchy until Wednesday. There was no bite mark, like from an insect or spider. Feel free to add that to any stories told during the tour if you see fit. :-) | ||||||

| We are very interested in the supernatural, as well as history. My 8 year old son wanted to take a haunted tour, but gets scared easily. I e-mailed some questions to Bulldog tours and was pleased when they answered me back right away. After much research, we decided the Dungeon tour would be our best bet. It was the perfect choice. Our tour guide was outstanding. She was full of information and history. We were all very intrigued by the stories she told, even our son. This is a great choice for those with young children, as it's full of history, without being scary. I highly recommend this tour. I look forward to going back again and taking some of the other tours Bulldog tours offers. | ||||||
