After reading about the things to do in Charleston, we decided that a ghost tour was a must. We went on the Ghost and Dungeon tour, and while no ghostly encounters were had, it was definitely fun. Our guide was from Charleston and was able to give us some fun history about the city and happenings. The stories he told were entertaining, and it allows you to see a little bit of the city during the tour. I would recommend if you're looking for a short evening walk with some fun stories and history. |

We were new to the area and took my mother in-law to learn more about the city. It was wonderful! Our tour guide, Ann G, was so personable, knowledgable, and made the tour very enjoyable! We may book another one when more family come to town. |

We took the tour with Jim. He is very knowledgeable and gave a great tour. Somewhat soft spoken at a few times. The problem was a large group form Tennessee that had a child with them which immediately began crying and making noise once the tour started. (not faulting the child but the parents for taking him) Also the mother of this child appeared to be intoxicated to some extend and was asking Jim questions making comments to the point that it was frustrating him. He apologized a couple of times. I don't think you should let small children on these nighttime tours. I also took a bunch of pictures and have some that i cannot explain and would like to share them to get your opinion. Is that possible. Again great tour and would go again just not if I noticed children. thanks |

After seeing the old jail on GhostHunters and Ghost Adventures we were really looking forward to this. It was more of a history of the old jail than a ghost tour. Granted the lights were off and somewhat eerie it never hit the spot. We were hoping to get to spend some time in the rooms but with all the restoration that was pretty much impossible. Did not know this was a college restoration project prior to going on the tour or we might not have gone. Susan was very knowledgeable and did have some good stories and help with directions afterwards. Dont think i would recommend this one but the graveyard one was great |

Our first trip to Charleston, first ghost tour and we will be back. Had a really good time. Saw parts of the city we wouldn't have otherwise seen and our tour guide (Braxton) was the greatest. Very informative, great stories and history. Next time for us it will probably be the Old City Jail, and we hope to get Braxton again. Highly recommend Bulldog Tours, you'll have a good time. Little hint...get to town early if your doing a weekend tour because finding parking is HARD if you get there right before your tour. Go early and make a day of it. There is plenty to see and do to keep you busy. |

We heard tons of good reviews about Bulldog Tours, and we were pretty excited about going on this tour. It was fun, and I might try another tour if I ever make it out to SC again, but this tour didn't live up to the hype. The building is going through restoration and they left the lights off, so we didn't really get a good look at any of the features of the jail. The tour guide was friendly and informative, but he was also a bit rambling and went off on a lot of tangents during the tour. It was a little spooky, and we had fun, but it could've been done better. |

Ms. Miller was an excellent guide and took us down narrow streets and alleys a tour bus could not get through. She provided a very interesting overview of the history of Charleston from its start to now. |

Our tour guide was amazing. It's hard to tell these stories in a way that will make them interesting without being kind of cheesy, but he nailed it. My only complaint is that the tour isn't long enough! Those 45 minutes flew by way too fast. I would highly recommend the tour, and will definitely use Bulldog Tours again. |

We have taken three ghost/graveyard/dungeon tours in Charleston on two separate visits and enjoyed this one by far the most. The guide was interesting, informed and interactive. She had pictures to show at various stops and was an engaging story teller. I wish I could remember her name but she was a petite little lady with a short dark hairdo and big blue eyes. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and if we're ever in the area again, I'd like to have her as our guide. She also helped us back at the office with a t shirt that we wanted. |

I was really excited about this tour and we all shelled out what seemed like a pretty high individual cost for the tour. The tour guide was very nice and polite but the tour itself was pretty un-entertaining. We enjoyed hearing the history - but the spooky factor was almost non-existent. The tour guide should really play up the "ghost" side of things and get the group more engaged. Like the picture on the site - she never asked for any volunteers to experience the torture device. Anyway, not a bad tour for history buffs but worth maybe half of the 17 dollar entry fee. |
